San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse announced today that head coach Brian Silcott will not be returning to the team for the 2008 season.
Silcott will devote much of his summer to Rhino lacrosse in Portland (OR) and will be spending more of his time with the Rhino select team. A search for a new coach will begin immediately. Silcott had a two year coaching record with San Francisco of 11-14, and is coming off a 2007 season in which the team finished 4-8. In the team's first season, the Dragons compiled a 7-5 regular season record and qualified for the MLL playoffs before eventually losing to the Denver Outlaws in the league semifinals.
“On behalf of our entire organization we want to thank Brian for his efforts over the past two seasons,” commented Locker. “Brian is a good friend and we are grateful for the time he spent in San Francisco.
"A search for a new head coach will begin immediately,” Locker continued.
