The Boston Cannons announced that they have acquired the MLL’s all-time leading point scorer, attackman Mark Millon from the Baltimore Bayhawks according to Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Scott Hiller. In exchange the Cannons sent goaltender Trevor Tierney and the fourth overall pick in the 2005 MLL Collegiate Draft to the Bayhawks. Millon is the MLL’s career leader in points with 249 in 52 career games. Millon was the MLL’s Warrior Offensive Player of the Year twice, in 2002 and 2003.
“We have a responsibility to our fans to be as competitive as possible each season,” said Hiller. “We want to win a championship and the addition of Mark puts us in a great position to do so. Mark is one of the best offensive players in the the sport, and continues to be one of the MLL’s best conditioned athletes. He is a great addition to this team.”
Millon is one of the most decorated offensive players in the history of the MLL. He has been a MLL All-Star and/or All-MLL Team member in each of his four seasons with the Bayhawks. Millon led Baltimore in points in each of those four seasons with the team. He has scored a goal in 24 straight regular season games, including all 12 in the 2004 season. He finished second in the league in points in 2004 behind Cannons attackman and MLL MVP Conor Gill.
“Teaming Mark and Conor puts two generations of outstanding players on the same field,” said Hiller. “Mark’s finishing skills combined with Conor’s passing abilities will make for the deadliest attack combination in the MLL. Those two combined with all of our other offensive talent will make the Cannons very tough to stop.
In addition to an outstanding MLL career, Millon was a standout on both the collegiate and international levels. Millon was a three time All-American at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, earning first-team honors in his junior and senior seasons. He graduated in 1993. He is also a two-time member of the US National team, earning MVP honors at the 1994 World Championship and the Best Attackman award at the 1998 World Championship.
Trevor Tierney was traded to the Cannons on July 14, 2004. He appeared in two games for Boston, starting one during the Cannons run to the New Balance MLL Championship game. The Cannons no longer have a first round selection in the 2005 MLL Collegiate Draft. Boston retains five total picks in the draft.

Are they near the top of the list? Probably. But you'd be surprised how easily something like this can fall apart.
