October 13, 2006 - The New Jersey Pride organization supported a lacrosse promotional event called “Love Lacrosse 2006 in Nissan Stadium” in Yokohama, Japan on October 8th and 9th. Samurai Lacrosse, a private Japanese-based lacrosse promotional unit produced the event. “Samurai” (sah-mu-ra-i) means warrior in Japanese. Love Lacrosse 2006 in Nissan Stadium’s goal was to provide opportunities for young Japanese lacrosse players to show their enthusiasm for the sport while promoting lacrosse to the Japanese public. The event was focused on providing an opportunity to introduce the public to the sport through instructional opportunities as well as classroom-style education sessions.
