NJ Pride Move to Rutgers
press release January 19, 2006

CLIFTON - The New Jersey Pride, the Garden State's only professional lacrosse team, announced today that the team will play their 2006 home games at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, the premier lacrosse facility in the state.

"Rutgers University has some of the finest facilities in New Jersey, and we're looking forward to having the opportunity to bring our fans and our product to this beautiful venue,'' said Pride General Manager Trey Reeder. "We view the relationship with Rutgers as a chance to align ourselves with one of the most recognized, and central, locations in the state. With the continued growth of lacrosse markets in Southern and Central New Jersey, our move to Piscataway will help enable our franchise to continue to grow our fan base."

Said Rutgers Athletic Director Bob Mulcahy, "We're happy to host the New Jersey Pride and Major League Lacrosse on our campus. We are very proud of our athletic facilities, and we look forward to having the opportunity to showcase Yurcak Field to the professional lacrosse audience."

The 5,000 seat stadium on the campus of Rutgers University houses the Scarlet Knights' soccer and lacrosse teams and is officially named "The Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium at Yurcak Field" in honor of Ronald N. Yurcak, a 1965 All-American Rutgers Lacrosse player. The facility features a 120x75 foot grass playing surface, along with full lighting and state-of-the-art drainage. There are concessions and locker rooms on site, and a modern style press box capable of accommodating 30 media personnel for radio and television broadcasts.

The move to Rutgers comes after the Pride spent the last two seasons at Sprague Field on the campus of Montclair State University in Montclair. Prior to the 2004 season, the team spent two seasons at Commerce Bank Park in Bridgewater, a year after playing at MSU's Yogi Berra Stadium.

"Yurcak Field is certainly going to enhance our fan's overall experience at New Jersey Pride games. Better site lines and improved seating make this one of the finest facilities in the league,'' Reeder said. "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Montclair State University's Sprague Field and are thankful for the opportunity to work with MSU. They are a class operation and we were able to build a very good working relationship with their staff."

In addition to the five games played at Yurcak Field, the Pride will play their July 8 game against the Philadelphia Barrage at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.

The New Jersey Pride announced a new pricing structure for 2006 Season Tickets. Tickets are priced at $70 for the Goal Zone section of the stadium, $80 for the Midfield section, and $100 for the Premium Midfield (seatback) section. All packages include the full six game home schedule. Group discounts are also available.
