December 12, 2005 - The Boston Cannons announced today they acquired All-Star defenseman John Glatzel and the 12th overall selection in the 2006 MLL Collegiate Draft from the MLL's San Francisco expansion franchise. In exchange Boston sent midfielders Peter Inge and Jarett Park along with the 18th overall pick in the 2006 MLL Collegiate Draft to San Francisco.

Glatzel played four seasons for the Rochester Rattlers (2002-2005) before being drafted by San Francisco in the 2006 MLL Expansion Draft. He has been named an MLL All-Star twice (2003 & 2005) and earned All-MLL honors in 2004. In five seasons with the Rattlers Glatzel played in 41 games, scored one goal and one assist and collected 82 groundballs.

Glatzel, a 2002 graduate of Syracuse University, was the NCAA’s Defenseman of the Year in 2002. He was a three-time All-America selection, first-team in 2001 and 2002. He served as team captain those two years as well. Glatzel won a gold medal playing for the U.S. National Team at the International Lacrosse World Championships in 2002.

Inge played three seasons with the Cannons beginning in 2003. He was Boston’s primary face-off midfielder in ’03 and ’04 and split time with David Jenkins last season. His best season was in 2004. He won 56.8% of his face-offs, set an MLL record with 30 face-off wins against New Jersey on 6/26/04 and was named the MLL’s Defensive Player of the Week twice.

Park was an MLL rookie in 2005 and appeared in four games for the Cannons. He was named the MLL’s Rookie of the Week twice.
