What's the scoop with Cantabene? Was he originally selected for the US Team and then removed for someone else? Or was he never on the roster from Day One?

Cantabene was on the roster along with Matt Danowski, but both were designated as alternates. And, as I understand it, once the tournament started, you could not move alternates onto the active roster.

I'm sure Cantabene was hot after everyone was proclaiming Snider the "best face-off guy in the world" after the world games.

The Denver Post had Cantabene winning 27 - 36, or 75% of the draws...by my count he beat Cercy, Snider, Benson Erwin, Casey Cittadino and Tom Garvey.

Tough to play that much defense...especially when your goalie is having a pedestrian day like Tierney had.

i thought the cantebene/cercy matchup and history stat line was intriguing. one seems to slaughter the other every other time they play.

I just find the whole Cantabene thing funny-he gets pissy at the whole Baltimore Front Office (not like anyone else is) then he comes out of no where to join Philly (after the Bayhawks figure out this guy really is never going to play for us again, but at least we get seomthing for him) and then he scorches everyone for revenge for being let off the world games roster. You could just tell that was the case when he scored-it was like a giant FU to the cameras. Good for him. Cercy had nothing-he had no ice on the sidelines for his heads. :D
