I know this doesn't apply to anyone reading this board, but maybe your girlfriends.

BOSTON CANNONS DANCE TEAM HOSTING OPEN AUDITIONS

The Boston Cannons Dance Team will be hosting open auditions for the 2005 squad on Sunday, April 3rd at 3pm. - Auditions will be held at Route 1 Racquet and Fitness Club located at 425R Broadway (RT1) in Saugus, MA. The Cannons dance team appears at all Boston Cannons home games at Nickerson Field, Boston University. Please note that auditions will be held on one day only. Auditions will not be open for public viewing. Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete an application form and participation waiver.

You do not need to prepare your own choreography as a short routine will be demonstrated. All candidates will learn the routine and have an opportunity to perform for the judging panel in groups of 2-3. You should wear an aerobics outfit and sneakers for the dance audition Your outfit should compliment your figure and hair and make-up should be performance ready. Appearance, physical fitness, dance ability, and personality are all considerations during the audition.

The dance team cheers the Cannons on from the sidelines during the games, interacts with fans at breaks in the action, and assists with on-field contests. At half time, the group performs a short choreographed routine on the main field. Dance team members also make various outside appearances on behalf of the Cannons during the season. In 2004, the squad led participants from the "Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure" in pre-race warm-ups and also appeared at Boston's Park Plaza Hotel to assist the Muscular Dystrophy Association with their annual charity event.

All dancers are volunteers and do not get paid for their positions. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age by the date of auditions in order to participate, without exception. There is no maximum age limit and we do not have a height requirement.

Candidates selected for the team will be notified the same week. Those being selected will be required to attend one rehearsal each week at Route 1 Racquet and Fitness Club, as well as all seven Cannons home events and Major League Lacrosse's Championship weekend events August 19th & 21st (regardless if the Boston Cannons are involved in the playoffs).
