AP now allowing I-AA football teams to receive votes in Top 25 poll.

Should this be considered when I and II division teams play in MCLA?

I'll say yes, but i really doubt it would happen. The only way to show a D2 team deserves to be ranked amongst the top teams is if they beat a Top 25 team. I think the only team to accomplish that feat last season was Westminster over Utah, and ranking Westminster ahead of teams like Illinois or Texas I would imagine be very difficult for pollsters

The problem with this is Div 1 teams see no benefit to play a high caliber Div 2 schools. Just look at this weekend, Michigan is the laughing stock of the college football and app state is the story of the year. If Michigan would of won it would have been just another non-conference fluff win.

Div 1 teams are very scared of the high caliber Div 2 teams because they can ruin a season, but a the win will not make a season.

Also it would cause a larger mess in a polling system that is already a mess.

I'd say no. In any other poll, you receive votes for your respective division. If you look at NCAA lacrosse, and hypothetically say Division III Salisbury beats Division I Maryland. Salisbury wouldn't receive votes in the Division I poll; they would get votes in the Division III poll.
