From the Poll Voting Information page:
http://www.collegelax.us/pollinfo.php

2007 Shamrock Lacrosse MCLA Division A Top 25 Poll Voters (in alphabetical order, 40 total):

2007 Shamrock Lacrosse MCLA Division B Top 25 Poll Voters (in alphabetical order, 26 total):

12 Division A Poll Voters (out of 40) failed to cast a vote last night for the final Top 25 poll.

9 Division B Poll Voters (out of 26) failed to cast a vote last night for the final Top 25 poll.

30% of the voters in Div. A missed the vote while almost 35% of the Div. B voters missed it.

I won't identify the guility parties involved publicly. But suffice to say it is irresponsible to all the teams that have worked hard this season on the field to have voters casually disregard their obligations to the entire MCLA.

When the original vote was due last night @ 6:30pm Eastern for Division A, I had almost half the votes missing!

Many votes were late. Not just a few minutes late, but 1 or 2 hours late.

And this was for a vote that would determine the teams and the seeds for the (11th annual) national championship tournament!

Just an FYI for those of you that thought your team was shortchanged in the tournament seeding or even if you missed the tournament field completely. Discuss among yourselves.....

Wow. I think it's understood that things can come up from time to time....

But 30% and 35% respectively, for the most important poll of the year...that's insulting to the teams that worked hard all season...ESP the bubble teams.

I don't really feel people had enough time to do so. The final games were so close to the due time. I think that could have been handled better.

There was only one MCLA game yesterday (CCLA Div. A Final in Ohio between Michigan and Michigan State).

All other 2007 MCLA games were finished by Saturday evening.

All voters were made aware of the online poll schedule (http://www.collegelax.us/pollinfo.php) and via email multiple times.

I don't know what else I can do.

I was participating in training camp and on the road all weekend. I still made sure I voted prior to the deadline. There is no excuse for not having 100% participation all year.

I agree, votes could have been made anytime that week, and would only need to be adjusted later in teh weekend. Even if there was an upset and the voter couldn't adjust their vote, it would have been better than nothing.

The final poll vote timing was the same this year as it is has always been. It was actually a bit easier this year as there was only one conference wrapping up on the day the votes were due (ours). Usually 8 of the 9 conferences are getting done that final Sunday and then everyone has to vote that same night.

The other thing that made this much easier was the system that Sonny developed this year that allowed voters to adjust their vote online until the deadline. That way everyone could vote earlier in the week if they needed to, then make final adjustments if necessary after the RMLC and CCLA tournaments wrapped up over the weekend.

Both polls still had a good total number of voters, but I wonder if there was any regional effect due to a high number of voters who missed coming from a particular conference or area...

Regardless, it's a shame anyone would miss such an important vote.

This is rediculous!! I dont know if this is possible but something needs to be done about this. The seedings are for the most part OK, but some are bad. I mean UMD as #6is just out right wrong and everyone knows that. Mich. is ranked way to high as well. I said this in the tourney suggestion post a while ago but it is things like this that still make the MCLA look like a JOKE, which as we can see, it still is. Might as well get some kegs for the sidelines in Dallas and all go out till 3am the night before the games. It is a shame because it is so easy to vote and Sonny has made it much easier. Also there is so much work that goes into this website and the tourney that this is a shame. No wonder the "real" lacrosse world thinks this league is a joke. The voters should be ashamed of themselves.

Maybe exclude those voters who failed to vote for the final poll this year from being voters next year. Then again, we still get better voter turnout on here than in the US federal elections

this is the wrong thread to gripe, try the championship chat room. Also, UMD earned their spot. Personally I would have them higher. If you feel disagree, search through other threads where this topic has been discussed, or feel free to message me

I also think this is a big deal and am disappointed in the people that did not come through. Though it isn't huge as i don't think it would change the teams that made it to the tournament, but it could have totally changed the seedings. CU and UMD are only seperated by 14 points, as well as Oregon and CSU only being 18 points apart. 12 more voters could have really changed this. In the B division it is even more costly. The last team to get the at large bid was only 15 points ahead, what might have been? Also, the 4 and 5 teams were only 22 points away, but that is the difference between a first round bye and one more game in the sweltering heat. There really needs to be some reprecussions.

Being a three year voter on the poll I must apologize to all for missing the vote this time.

I was involved in training camp out of town for the SF Dragons, was unable to bring my laptop and the hotel business center computer's were off line most of the weekend.

This was the first poll I missed in 3 years. Again, I apologize to those teams involved.
