Congrats to all! Best of luck to all teams in Plano. Should be a great tournament. Go Cougars!
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

Oakland vs Michigan and UCSD vs UCSB, great conference rematches at Nationals. Rematch of a great Oregon-Arizona game from last year. With the possible exception of CSU, nobody has an easy road to the second round. I'm sure 'Noma would have preferred an easier opener than playing Northeastern. Should be a phenomenal tourney...

I'm so bitter it's not even funny. I force myself to say good luck though.

Oh...well then no wonder he's bitter...his team got left out and he's a Ute. I'd be bitter to

Noma 2?

Postby Jumbo on Mon May 01, 2006 9:59 pm

Utah beat noma by one and they aren't even going to Texas and then noma got choked out by BYU . How can they be considered the number 2 team after such a sloppy finish. Utah got robbed.

Apparently they didn't take enough candy nor clear the crease.

Just for the record, the rains here in northern California literally kept the Noma team off of a field for at least 2 prior to the utah trip. they practiced in a gym, every day.

When they get back, sunshine and a dry field...Sonoma posts 3 straight wins in WCLL playoffs, 2 of which were top 10 teams (zona & ucsd, both going to plano) to take the WCLL crown.

sloppy finish? seems pretty strong to me

Playing both Cal Poly and Utah, I must say they are both very deserved to be at nationals, it is just a shame that Utah wont be there. They have a very good program. I'm sorry Utes, you guys have some serious game!

I could live with you saying that Sonoma was willing to play/schedule any top team, that is quite obvious from their schedule but the weather excuse is rather weak ane just doesn't cut it or do them justice. All the RMLC teams have to deal with adverse weather all season long. CSU played their first two home games at an indoor facility in Denver. I am sure both BYU and Utah had to deal with more than their fair share of weather problems too. Many of the colleges from the fair weather states are able to start practicing and playing games several weeks before teams in the Rockies and the northern states. I don't hear Oregon complaing and they surly have to deal with some of the worst wet weather of anywhere. I think adverse weather is lot like injuries. They happen and are beyond your control. You make the best of things and move foreward.

Just pray the weather holds up here in Dallas next week. I did a drive by last night and the fields are in great shape right now and should hold up well for Tuesday and Wednesday. Then they play the semi-finals and finals on the new artificial turf at the stadium so it will take lightning, hail or a tornado to stop any of those games. I just hope it stays in 70's and 80's like it has the last three or four days. If we have a heat wave it definitely could effect the outcomes and especially the keepers. The clock is winding down!

The semis will be held at Russell Creek. So that is Tuesday through Friday. Four games on each field a day. Only the championships will be in Kimbrough Stadium.
