Note - The BYU/Cal Poly score from Tues, 2/21 was not final before the poll voting was due, therefore most (if not all) voters did not have this information when they completed their ballot.

Top 10 remains unchanged. (maybe UCSD should move up a bit for their start)
Chapman had a huge jump from #22 to #14 (I guess pollsters agreed that they are for real).
Cal Poly moved up 2 spots to #17.
Utah dropped from #12 to #19.
SFU moved into top 25
ASU moved out.

Seems about right except for UCSD not moving up, yet.

With all due respect to my friend Steve Dini, the Golden Bears' Coach -- but how the heck did Cal get some votes for the Top 25??

I was wondering about that also. Cal ahead of UCLA?

It's possible that it was a vote meant for Cal Poly and the wrong box was checked. That happened a couple of years ago when Santa Clara got a 2nd place vote that was probably meant for Santa Barbara.

Awe, c'mon Catlax Man, We were a stud team a few years back. I know that second place vote was for us.

I would think that something like that had to happen. All The Cal schools are right next to each other. I know I had to double and triple check to make sure I selected the right ones.

OK, here it is. You knew it was coming. If the tourney was being held today, these teams would be in (assuming highest rated team in each conference gets AQ):

WCLL - (3) Sonoma, UCSB, UCSD
RMLC - (3) CSU, BYU, Colorado
SELC - (3) Florida St., VA Tech, GA Tech
CCLA - (2) Michigan, Oakland
PNCLL - (1) Oregon
GRLC - (1) Lindenwood
UMLL - (1) Minnesota-Duluth
LSA - (1) Texas Tech
PCLL - (1) Northeastern

On the outside - Chapman, Arizona, Cal Poly

*I would be surprised if the SELC has 3 teams in the tournament.
*No AQ in the RMLC. If BYU loses to CSU, Colorado, Sonoma, Michigan, Oregon and Florida St will they make the tournament with 8 losses? 6 losses?
*BYU has 3 Div3 teams on the schedule does that help or hurt in getting back on track?

No-no quality wins. BYU shoul not be anywhere in the top 15 if they an't pull out at least one win against those guys.

Flip question-does scheduling DIII opponents help/hurt BYU in the voters minds? Granted these games don't "count" be in reality people look at them very closely.

My point was; since the games vs. D3 don't count, doesn't that give BYU three less chances to get back in the mix?

Does that mean if they win one of those games and have 7 losses they should make the tournament? How many losses before you are out? 8? 6?

Would any team get an AQ from any conference with 6-8 losses? No, not unique to BYU.

Yes, it is possible to get an AQ with that many losses. All you have to do is win the conference tournament and you are the AQ. The point is that the RMLC does not get an AQ because there are not enough teams in the RMLC to have an AQ allocated. Therefore, any RMLC team that makes the tourney has to be an at-large pick.

So the question is, if they have a number of losses, will they be rated highly enough to get the at-large? They already have 2 losses and still have to play 3 D3 teams and CSU, Colorado, Sonoma, Michigan, Oregon, Arizona and Florida St.

Ahh yes, I misspoke. The question is whether or not any team could get an at large bid with 6-8 losses.

Granted it would be very difficult to get an at large bid with 6-8 losses, but if a team were to lose that many and then go and win the RMLC title, no AQ or not, I would think they deserve an at large bid.
