The 2005 season has been brutal on the pollsters. I kept thinking that as the season wore on the ranked teams would settle clearly into poll positions and make our voting easier. In the last poll, 29 of 30 voters agreed that CSU was the #1 team, with one first place vote given to 'Noma, most likely by the CSU coach who doesn't like to vote for his own team. This suggested that the voters were reaching consensus and that the final poll would reflect the trend. But the opposite seems to have happened, with lower-ranked teams (based on the previous poll) winning conference titles in the PCLL, SELC, UMLL, WCLL, LSA and the RMLC. This scrambles the top seven teams and makes today's vote awfully tough.
So who is #1?

Consideration has to be given to (15-2) Northeastern of the PCLL. Their two loses this season were to Florida State and New Hampshire.
In a five day span the Huskies defeated BC twice and avenged a mid-season loss to New Hampshire.
They should easily break into the top 20. I have them as high as #18 on my polls.
