The Movers and Shakers
Here are the big movers from the last poll. The first number is the change in points (each voter ranks their top 25 with #1 getting 25 points, #2 getting 24 points . . . the teams below #25 are based on points received), whether they went up or down, their new ranking followed by their old ranking (#NR means not ranked), and the team name.
Some interesting moves can be found within the numbers.
116 More - #20 from #31 - Puget Sound
86 Less - #28 from #22 - Augustana
76 More - #14 from #18 - Creighton
71 Less - #12 from #10 - Harding

I don't agree with St. Edward's dropping from #29 to completely off the radar.
I'm not going to argue, because it'd probably be a biased argument. Although, there is a team we beat 22-0 that managed to squeak into the top 40.

The vote -- or votes -- for Lewis & Clark must have been meant for PLU, which I'm guessing is listed just below L&C on the voter's alphabetical pull-down menu. With due respect and no offense intended to the Pios, this team surely does not deserve national Top 25 consideration, having won only one game since 2006.

Some of the more interesting shifts are of the #NR kind, both into and out of the poll.
Here's another way to look at the Top 25 only:

14 Less - #09 from #08 - Northern Colorado
23 Less - #10 from #09 - Savannah College AD
51 More - #11 from #12 - Southwestern
71 Less - #12 from #10 - Harding

Fun stuff, but I was an Econ major.

These polls just go to show how incredibly important it is to play quality OOC games earlier in the season. A few teams who have yet to play have been dropping like flies in the last two polls. There are few teams on there who are either A.) undefeated or B.) have yet to play, who are losing points at an incredible rate

Andy:
Fun stuff for sure - but I think it is disingenuous to merely say "interesting moves" after posting that much data.
If you have a specific thought, I'd be interested in you sharing it - either here or in a PM to the voters.

I think the numbers are "interesting" as well... its just another way to look at the polling. You can take whatever you want from it.

It's just a fun way to look at the poll, nothing earth shattering:
- teams moving in poll without changing in points (Montana State)
teams dropping out and joining in (too many to cite)
teams that don't belong (L & C)
teams moving without doing anything significant (too many to cite)

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited that we jumped into the poll so with so many points, & I'm excited to see where this thing shakes out. I'm not polling this year, but I am looking at teams records & opponents. Some teams strike me as way over-ranked, other shock me for being so low. End result, it's still really early, hard to argue with much of anything. A game or two could push a lot of teams around.

Hows Harding looking this year? We always seem to have a pretty big DI/DII rivalry between us and I heard they lost some experience this year. From the poll It looks like they've made up for it. Anyone know?
