I think playing the tournament is asking for trouble. They should only allow teams that can go to Nationals participate. Maybe it ends up being only a final game, but it will ring truer for a lot of interested parties.

I assume they'll be addressing this in their future meetings. I'll bet we'll see some input nationally as well.

Where is the backlash from the MCLA on this? This is garbage.

Why even have conference tournies...the #1 seed always wins! (sarcasm)

Teams that join the MCLA should plan for a national trip...or get out of the league. PCLL just showed the MCLA that D2 doesnt deserve to be taken seriously. PCLL should lose their AQ and if one of their teams want to make it to nationals they should plan some OOC trips and practice hard to get there. I cant beleive no one is talking about how messed up this whole thing is.

Damn straight.

How about next year whichever team in the SELC-2 is the #1 seed just asks to be voted the representative...because I mean hey...why the heck not? It's worth a shot...as it's worked 100% of the time this year.

raise the minimum requirements to receive an AQ to 8 teams from 6. That would make the "weaker conferences" have to play OOC games if they want to get to nationals!

According to laxpower, they do have the best conference record. Did they even do a playoff?

It's not looking like Montana State will be getting that AL bid now.

From what I have been reading, they were the team in the PCLL-2 that showed the most interest/availability in going...so they were made the representative before the tourney was even held...which is um...yeah...(insert adjective here).

The bottom of the first page of this topic has some info on it..sorta...

With Fort Lewis' strong performance against Montana St. (24-12) have they put themselves in a position above Emory for an at large bid? What kind of result will they need in the championship to ensure it?

Emory, Fort, SJU

Postby HDLAX on Fri May 02, 2008 4:03 pm

WOW...Fort Lewis really made a statement today. I love it! Playoff lax! Not calling off the dogs, rather letting them eat!
This muddies the water even more and puts a lot of emphasis on the UMLL tourney, particularly SJU, and Fort Lewis's tilt tomorrow against the winner fo the Westminster game.
All three teams lost key games down the stretch - Emory (to Elon and Dayton), SJU (Dayton, UST and a 11-10 scare by NDSU) and FLC (UNC). None have top 5 wins. None have any positive momentum, except maybe FLC now.
And dont forget the possible GVSU/Dayton matchup (although I think both the teams are locks as dropping far enough to be out would be tough @ this point).
Emory is definitely not out of the picture, although they are a sitting duck, as they are not playing this week.
I think Emory, SJU and Fort make up the bubble @ this point and any 2 could be justified as AL qualifiers.
Life without Genesis is no life @ all.

FLC made a HUGE statement today. MSU is no joke...

Yet again, thankful I'm not a voter.
