I didn't say they did or did not deserve a vote.

I was just citing a flaw in your argument. Even IF it is a bad vote, 1 voter out of 40 doesn't make the entire process flawed.

Hasn't a top 2-3 team won the national championship every year? Doesn't seem flawed to me.
I still think it sucks that UCSB dropped a spot because NU (not NE) got a first place vote. And I wasn't calling out any voters. Just joking around. I'll bet it was Mike Allan who voted NU #1 (another joke).

Just because they aren't in the strongest conference and don't consistently play the best teams in the country doesn't mean they aren't the best team in the country.

I feel a gobblerlax post coming soon...

actually, i think for all practical purposes, it does. If your conference is awful and you play no one outside it, you can't be considered the best team.

Even if Uconn beat BYU by a significant, i doubt they would recieve more than a few first place votes

I have to agree with scooter here. Even being a native Connecticutian, i do not think uconn is on the same level as Northeastern(coincidentally, where Jim calhoun got his start). Like scooter says, a good start would be play more than Missouri in trumbull. 2 hours down 84 for a home game does not constitute travelling. get out and be seenundefeated in conference plus 5 ooc is lightyears ahead of undefeated in conference with 1 ooc. and if you don't travel to play others, why should they play you if they come to New England.

Sonny, an easy way to solve this (but makes more work for you) is drop the high and low of each team, and re-release an "unofficial" poll. This will show people just how much influence the one #1 Northeastern vote affected the poll.

Since everyone is so unhappy with this poll I think that Sonny should from now on just pick 16 teams that he likes the best, because of team colors, mascots, coaches, and anyone willing to pay him, for the national championship tournament.

So Northeastern got a #1 vote, who cares, that is the right of a pollster.

I have seen 100's of people continually moan and groan about the polls and the injustices, yet never post their own poll, a bit hyprocritical I think.

There is one poll left and trust me, every team has to win 4 games at the tournament, period!
Racism is still alive they just be concealin' it

People are hacked off to the tune of four pages of posts b.c Northeastern got 2.5% of the first place votes in a lacrosse poll that has little, if any, influence on post season seedings.

2.5% of the people thought people David Duke would be a good President. 2.5% of people though Alf Landon would be a better President than FDR. 2.5% think Northeastern is a number one team. 2.5% of people believe statistics are made up on the spot......the point remains...it's 97.5% of the population doesn't agree.
