However, I dont have all the confidence in these rating systems, but Elon's only loss was to #3 ranked Eckerd by 2 goals in the SELC Championship. During the national tournament, Eckerd beat Augustana (polled at #10) by 8 and Utah Valley State (polled #2) by 12! Doesnt Elon deserve a spot in the top 10?

I have seen Elon play and I have seen the teams in Dallas. The answer is No.

Consolation games mean different things to different teams. I don't think they should be considered as "valid" results for polling purposes.

I agree that those consolation games are ambiguous at best for determining final rankings. Personally, though, I see them as incredibly important when I walk into the executive vice-president's office in the summer and give him an account of our team's final standing. It's because of that that Harding plays all out in every OOC game, consolation or not. (I also hate losing) Misguided as they may be, our program (maybe unique, maybe not) could benefit from even crappy post-season poles.

On funds: Pepsi24...quit whining. In response to Corbin: I would say that your fundraising scheme would be simple, but not easy as you put it. I believe that what you described is probably the altimate goal for the HU program, but the organizational structure (as proven by this past year) is not sufficient to handle it. (I'd bet that many other programs are in the same place) Unfortunately, you generally have to plan your schedule and THEN raise your funds, which, for an avid realist like myself (read: pessimist...Corbin will) makes it hard for me to schedule games out to Cali and Florida, though we would love to go. Until I see that level of fund-raising commitment from our guys, we will be desperately hoping that the "three game gaurantee" sticks around. If you're going to be there anyway...

Gentlemen! Gentlemen! Put down your spoons! Turn off the Bob Marley. It is not even June yet. We have a long way to go until September.

Enjoy your summer!
