Underrated?? UCSB has been in the top 15, if not the top 10, all season. How is that underrated? There are so many more teams in the polls that are much more underrated than UCSB.

Their performance over the past two weeks (wins over ASU, Cal, Arizona) has proven that they were underrated. Best team in the second best league should be a top five team. And yes...BC is also underrated. They should be 14-12 range. I have seen them play this year, and they are legit.

I honestly don't see how BC couldn't move into the top 10. Northeastern and Sonoma played their ways out of the top 10, and UGA, UF, and Lindenwood didn't do anything to move into it. Who would you honestly put ahead of BC in the 10-12 range?

I agree with WestCoast that the polls need to reflect what a teams playing level is now.

The polls reflect a team's entire season, not how well they are playing this week. UCSB might be hot, but they also lost a couple of games they probably shouldn't have lost. You can't just say that those losses don't count.

Why would you say that they only lost one game at "sea level"? If BC supporters said that they only lost one game "where the temperature was below 70 degrees" then everyone on the boards would crucify them.

Whether it was "the 3rd game of a 3 game road trip" or "it was too rainy and guys weren't used to that" or whatever the excuse de jour is, I've seen too many of those this year.

Where do the Gauchos go from here? Probably to #5 or #6. Maybe they deserve better, or maybe not, but that's where I think they will probably end up.

I don't know if you saw that game, but Chapman made them look foolish. That has always been a rivalry game, and it was for the LA division title. To make a statement like that is pretty bogus. That is like saying they would let down in any of their out of conference games, because it does not matter within the context of WCLL. I guess Utah got "lucky" when they beat them by 3 goals. Why diminish the other teams that beat them this year by making those statements. Altitude? They beat Colorado at altitude.

With that said, big wins over Arizona and ASU show they can play. Like any other games this year, sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, the bar eats you...

There's no question that the Gauchos embarrassed themselves against Chapman but nonetheless they did know that the game wouldn't count against them because of Chapman eligibility problem. Any team can lose on any given day. My only point is that UCSB has been underrated in the polls all season. I'm not trying to diminish any other teams I'm just supporting mine.

Santa Barbara lost to Chapman 13-5 on 4/14 in the last game of regular season and there is no doubt that they embarrassed themselves. But this sounds just like the Sonoma game on Saturday. No doubt that Sonoma also feels that they embarrassed themselves. Sonoma was totally outplayed in almost all areas of play and eventually Sonoma beat themselves. But like Santa Barbara, Sonoma will bounce back and be a force to be reckoned with in the National Championships. And I also know that the Gauchos have been underrated all season, because everytime they lost and Sonoma won we were told by the good folks from Santa Barbara that somehow Sonoma should drop in the polls but not them.

Why is it assumed that Sonoma will make the tournament? THIS SEASON, they havent really done anything to deserve an at-large bid. They beat the #19, 20, and 21 teams. Is that honestly deserving of an at-large? People need to stop thinking about how good they have been in the past and think about how good they are THIS SEASON.
