Top 25 D2 Results for Poll #5

Here is a thought...The RMLC has a 4 team play-off schedual(East has 2 teams and west has 2 teams) This means that Montana State and Westminster have the one spots for East and West locked. The West 2 spot is up for grabs between Fort Lewis and UVSC. The East 2 spot has a potential three wat tie between Metro, Mines, and UNC. This means that 3 of our top 25 teams will not even make their conference playoffs. When this happens, are they no longer in the polls? Do they qualify for and At Large bid? If there are any voters or anyone who can shed some light that would be great.

Unless a team has been declared ineligible for the national tournament due to previous MCLA or conference violations, they are still eligible for the Top 25 poll. Poll Information page here:
http://www.collegelax.us/pollinfo.php
There will be a few teams that don't qualify for their respective conference playoffs that still earn votes for the Top 25 polls and thus are eligible to receive an at-large berth in the National Tournament.

Harding beat Depaul 9-8 in double OT.
Harding-17 Wash U-1
Sounded to me like Depaul played very hard and very aggressive. They are very quick and athletic team. Probably not one of the better games for HU this season.
Do not have any info on the HU v. WashU game, but the score indicates that HU was back to normal on finishing their shots.
*Nothing against Creighton, but they have somehow crept into the top 25 2 yrs in a row now. Their upcoming weekend will determine if they deserve their spot this year.

one could also argue that harding doesnt deserve their spot since Creighton beat Depaul by 4 this year, harding won in 2OT. Guess we will all see wednesday.

In my opinion, DePaul proved that they are a more impressive team than they are given credit for with this game. I don't know of any 'preseason hype', but this is pretty good for a team that is new to the league.
I don't know what kind of implication that has for the difference between Harding and Creighton, but the upcoming weeks are going to be interesting in the GRLC-DII.

I might be wrong, but Harding and Creighton should lock up the #1 and #2 spot in playoffs for the GRLC-II this year. If that's the case, maybe they will get to meet up in the championship game this year. Playoffs should be very interesting this year for GRLC-II. There doesn't appear to be just one team dominating this year. Can't wait to watch!

Agreed. Spectators should also keep a very close watch on Dordt, as well as St Louis U. either one of those teams has the talent to upset either Harding or Creighton in the GRLC playoffs. but perhaps this is a better conversation to have in the GRLC forum....

I actually think Dordt will get the 2 spot since the beat Creighton h2h. Not going to swear to that, but I think thats how it goes. Maybe SLU too

Any predictions for tomorrow's poll?
Should be interesting with some movement at the top given the SJU/Dayton/UST results. Too bad UST and SJU couldn't get the game in last week before this poll. What about Fort, where do they fit in? Does GVSU move?
Charlotte has gained some serious momentum going into that tournament. Looks like they'll draw SCAD and have the possibility to meet up with Emory. There is always a bit of room for a spoiler there as well.
How are people viewing the PCLL? I have no idea what is going on out there. No buzz and nothing to compare too, really.

SCAD drew a bye, so no friday night game for them...
Our tournament path looks like this.
Fri- Tennessee Wesleyan
Sat - Emory
Sun - SCAD/Elon/CoastalCarolina bracket winner
With 5 of the 6 teams currently ranked in the top 25, the SELC D2 tournament could have some serious ramifications on the poll, especially since 3 of them are currently in the top 10, (and if not for our little midseason space out, it could have been 4.)
(*Edit* In no way am I even implying that we will for sure play all those games, I'm simply saying that is the potential schedule for us. Just wanted to be clear about that.)
