Here's an interesting question for everyone. If Arizona, Sonoma State, or UCSB win the WCLL tournament, how much of an impact will it have on their ranking?

It is not just Michigan that has not had to do too much to stay in the top 10, Sonoma is a similar case. Loses against 1,2 and 3, of course that will happen. But, I guess beating #19, #20 and #21 buys you a #6 spot. Is that really a top 10 team? Good thing they had a walk into the WCLL final four.
As has been said over and over in this forum, if you start in the top 10, it is pretty hard to move down. Exception would be FSU, who blew it by losing to teams outside of the top 10 and not beating anybody.
With that, I think CSU and BYU are truly the best teams in the country right now. I think a rematch of their earlier game could go a different direction.

any team, any day....you never know
Very True...I won't argue that but I'll still put my faith in BYU.
Can we just change the name of this feed to "Praise to BYU?"

in comparing them to Utah...Yes you can change it.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

If we are looking at quality wins here, I really don't think UMD and Sonoma should be as high as they are. Neither team has beaten a top 16 team. Michigan is similar, but they at least have some wins against Florida and Lindenwood. The tournament is supposed to have the top 16 teams. If we don't know how well they do against top 16 teams (other than lose to a few of the best), then why are they ranked so high? I have heard some defense of UMD, but nothing from Sonoma. Are they trying to slip under the radar? Maybe if they win WCLL I can see them staying there, but a loss to Arizona, UCSB, or Cal should result in a dramatic drop in their rankings. A little look into quality win points gives this:

Are you even serious? this is almost laughable. Have you even seen Sonoma play? Wait i already know the answer...you clearly haven't. Granted their schedule might not be as strong as say a BYU, CU, or CSU (obviously at the top in terms of SOS due largely to RMLC league play), but they havent lost any games other than those to BYU, CSU, and OR (who have all held the top spot in the poll at some point during the season). When you keep winning, youre not really gonna drop too much in the polls, thats just how it goes. So stop complaining, and come watch NOMA vs. UA Saturday at 1 at the WCLL semis so you can better educate yourself before the next poll.
And regarding NOMA's "walk into the final four", go try and find some more difficult matchups for top-tier teams in the quarterfinals of ANY conference tournament this year (outside of ASU-UCSB). Probably not too many if you get my point

You are right. I haven't seen them this year, but I have seen them in past years and I have talked to people who have seen them this year. They don't appear to be as good as their ranking, but we will see this weekend. I already said that I could accept them holding their position if they win the WCLL. A win over Arizona and then a loss to UCSB/Cal should drop them a good amount.

Questions about the Poll:
#4 Michigan, a little two high I think, what you have done for me lately, what have you done for me at all?
Aparently a win over #13 and #14 in the nation gives you a top 5 ranking?
Congrats to Georgia, moving up 5 spots. 5 may have been a little too much, but congrats none the less good luck in Dallas, i suggest eating at Bone Daddy's.
This polls MO is, I didn't do anything to move up, but the people in front of me sure did a good job of needing to move down.
Colorado, Lindenwood, and Michigan all moved up in the polls after losing big games. I have to say however that both Lindenwood and Michigan moving up is less derserving, because unlike Colorado neither of them have any "big" wins to rely on for cred.
I agree, how is it that ASU loses two games to top ten opponents (Arizona & UCSB) and goes from 4th to 11th, while Michigan loses to the only three top ten teams they play, one of which is ASU at Michigan. Michigan beat Michigan State and moved up in the poll

i'll admit it. utah needs ALOT of help to get to the tourney. they killed themselves playing so poorly ever since the duluth game. especially the westminster game. that was a team they should have rolled over easily. i mean, they beat them 17 - 2 in a scrimmage right before the season. they had their flashes of brilliance against byu, but that's certainly not enough. i'm still pulling for them against byu in boulder, but it will take quite a bit to get over that mountain.

Not only that, they barely ventured out of their own back yard all season. The debate over Sonoma, UCSB, ASU & Arizona will some what be settled in the WCLL conference playoffs while Michigan is playing who

Care to expand on this? Interesting to see you say this while OldRamAlum83 is saying Michigan's win over them means nothing.
In response to OldRamAlum83, you shouldn't underestimate Michigan's victory over MSU. No game over an in-state rival is ever easy, as Michigan's loss to them in the CCLA semis last year shows. Michigan had a very convincing win over MSU. Whether this warrents a bump up in the polls, I haven't the slightest clue.

old Ram...
I think the drop for ASU is warranted, although they have some pretty solid wins this year....Chapman, Utah, A &M, Oregon, Michigan, they losses they have just had hurt them, that is the way it goes when you lose late in the season it hurts more than when you lose early, that is the beauty of this playoff system, of course it hurts some teams, but you live and die by it...Why is Michigan ranked so high, I am not sure, why didn't CU get hurt by their late season losses, I am not sure about that either, but I think that everything will sort itself out when the Conference tourney's are all over...hopefully ASU gets a measure of respect back while not playing anyone, hopefully the WCLL dilemma gets solved, and if it doesn't by tourney time, then I am sure that it will as the tourney proceeds...it is a tough selection process and unfortunately in some cases Reputation comes to the forefront for better or for worse, but that is why it is better to build a resume over many seasons than simply one...I am not saying it is fair...I am saying it is what it is...Good luck to all WCLL teams...hopefully the devils find thir swagger again...I think they could be a force in the tourney...hopefully the loss to SB creates a monster...
