Last year with Colorado State. If memory serves me right Utah got the bid and the tournament was reseeded.

The conference does have the right to declare who they want as their conference champion. However, since more than a day has gone by and polls were voted based upon Salem State being conference champion I dont think that they would name another team champion. But weirder things have happened. Does that make sense?

i am really bored with HW, so i did a little research. When CSU dropped out last year they were #2, everyone just moved up one slot. It is the most logical way of doing things.

so theoretically the PCLL could name a different confrence champion? does anyone know how there by-laws are written to allow this? Does the MDIA have any bylaws relating to the date by which a champion is named?

No, the PCLL can not name a different conference champion. The only situation where this would happen would be if a team informed the conference BEFORE the playoffs even began that they would not be able to go to nationals if they were to win the conference. In this situation, the loser of the championship game would be named the conference champion. It's dubbed the "Coast Guard" rule because CG would be in this situation every year. For example, if CG beat NU in the PCLL championship game, NU would be named conference champion and get the PCLL AQ.

As a team that is right now trying to get a scouting report together this is very interesting. will another pcll team get the bid or will harding get the at large and get in? and if this happens will it be like last year and the tournament will get reseeded. i believe that is a big thing because harding if they get in deserve i believe a much higher seed then the 11 that salem state had. if anyone has an answer to these questions that would be great.

I should add, this is in the PCLL by-laws so it's not like it's just a back-up plan the EB would use to avoid not sending an AQ.

The bracketing would probably get reseeded because the matchups are determined by a team's poll position. Reseeding is only necesssary if a lower ranked team dropped out and a higher ranked team got in that is ranked higher than the previous lowest qualifier.

PCLL will lose their AQ bid. As people have said, I believe the tournament will be reseeded. Therefore Harding will get seeded based on their poll position rather than Salem State's seed.

Nationals is during the week that all underclassmen (or maybe it's all upperclassmen) are out doing training on boats or something like that.

Salem State was #12 seed. Since Harding is currently in the #11 spot in the polls and Southwestern is lower than them, Harding will be seeded #11 and Southwestern will now be the #12 seed. No major changes to the seeding, really.
