GVSU (beat UST)

SJU (Loss big time to Dayton #3)

to credit uvu, they were minus two of their best offensive threats and I think their golie was absent as well. I believe they outscored us in the 3rd quarter. They made a good run it just wasn't enough.

At this point in the season I would have to go with:

#1 Stays Westminster but it would have been nice to see them play any of the next four teams. Even though I think they would fare well.

#2 GVSU by win over UST. Saw them play in Iowa against UST and they looked very solid. Attack unit is very nice especially their lefty freshman #31. All around looked deep and skilled at every position.

#3 UST Again solid at every position and senior rich team. Costello is very solid on faceoffs and dominates most teams. I believe they are going to go far in Dallas this year.

#4 Emory Very solid defense by looking at goals against, but haven't seen them play.

#5 SJU They have the talent to beat any of the above teams but I don't think they have reached their stride yet. I would bet that they will peak come time for the UMLL Championships. Next weeks UST vs. SJU game should be epic.

P.S big loss by Creighton this week! Where does that put them in the next poll with no quality wins?
Instead of the poll getting easier as the season goes on it looks to be getting tougher.

#12 Western Oregon 7, #13 Puget Sound 3. . .both teams now with one loss in conference, so WOU has the edge and will likely finish as the #1 seed in the playoffs (assuming they get by a very tough Whitman team). . .

Sad that people are surprised that Dayton is good, thankfully enough pollsters believed those who had seen them and looked at their roster, so as to not make it look like a huge upset.

I haven't seen either team play this season and was slightly surprised by the score of the No. 2 v. No. 3 matchup. I can't remember if previous seasons have been filled with such depth and talent league-wide, but '08 seems like a special one.

Just when I thought there was a conclusive result, Dayton get's blown away. Who knows what will happen at nationals, thankfully the "contenders" will all be there and only one can win 4 games in 5 days when it matters most.

My sentiments exactly Andy. But on that note, wasn't GVSU's win over St. Thomas their 4th road game in 2 days? Perhaps something for the voters to think about for the next D2 poll.

Isn't that a bit subjective? I mean we opened up the season with two wins against Division 1 schools and a convincing win against then ranked DePaul on the road, followed 20 minutes later to an OT loss to another Div 1 school Iowa. Now Dordt beating CU was a quality win for them given the fact that it was an upset, but had we beaten them, I don't think anyone would have considered that a Quality win. We were projected to win by 18 in some pre-game scores, but yet were upset by 2 or 3 goals (depending on what official score you go by). It's funny how the business you take care of in earlier season has no bearing on the success you've had in mid-season.

Depaul has yet to show they belong to be ranked. They have NOT lived up to the preseason hype. The d1 schools you beat were not ranked, and don't have votes in any national poll.

What has CU done to deserve to be ranked? They have not beat a top 25 team, lost to an unranked team. With the exception of maybe 1 OOC conference game, there are no ranked teams on the schedule anywhere on the schedule.

I have no doubt Creighton is a a quality team, but at this point, IMO, they do not deserve to be in the next Top 25 poll

We'll see with an upcoming trip to Colorado next week against both ranked CSoM AND Metro. Even we're curious.... :)

With this past weekend's lost, we know in order to prove to not just every one, but moreover ourselves, that this weekend against Rockhurst and Regis Jesuit and next weekend in Colorado has a lot at stake.

At the end of the day, Will and I are always the first ones to preach about taking care of your division, then your conference. Until that happens, all else is irrelevant.

Let's also pay tribute to the fact that all of these discussions are proof that the parity across the MCLA is deep. Too many teams, not enough spots.... That's not a bad thing on the club level, or any level for that matter.

Best of luck to everyone else in the final weeks of the regular season.
