Nice work, Bobcats.

Mines over Regis 9-5. Best of luck to the East Division at RMLC's.

What is the deal with the UMLL tournament? I heard weather prevented some games from being played.

Due to weather (freezing rain and snow) the UMLL tournament did not happen this weekend. The site that was supposed to host the tournament closed all of their fields for the weekend on Friday around noon, a little bit before the first games were supposed to start. Efforts were made to try to find other available turf fields, but the weather just would not cooperate. The UMLL D2 tournament has been postponed until next weekend.

So with no possible UST vs SJU rematch before the next poll i wonder what happens to SJU in this poll on the 30th. With a crushing lost to UST and a one goal win vs non ranked NDSU, who knows if they will hold the 5th spot.

Touche, well played, and very true. I was only speaking about situations that I was aware of. There are obviously teams out there with bigger travel steps. D2 schools also have smaller budgets though. Just something to think about. But with your isolation, you validate my point about having to go "to the ends of the earth" for good competition....

I don't understand why everyone assumes that DII schools operate on a smaller budget. I hate hearing people cry out that it is not a development league, and then turn around and make excuses as to why it is not fair to compare DI and DII.

You could say that your school has a smaller budget, but I am sure there are many DII schools have larger operating budgets than some DI schools.

I don't mean to jump all over your comment, but to say that DII schools have smaller budgets simply isn't true, and just further perpetuates the notion that DII is somehow inferior.

Whoa, first of all, I am not, nor have I ever made ANY excuses for D2 schools. But statistically, D2 schools are traditionally smaller schools, with smaller enrollment and in MOST cases, smaller teams. That's all I was saying. I doubt Cornell, NW, and other small schools with 12 to 15 guys have the same budget of 1AA schools, let alone D1 schools.

I am not speaking on behalf of D2 as a whole, just pointing out something things to refute some debates that have transpired about OOC and D2 schools, geographic isolation etc.

Has the game started? If so, wondering if anyone knows someone at this game...very interested in the outcome as I have played against both teams. Both are very talented and it should be a tough battle for both.

I believe that SJU is way over ranked and I am personally sick of hearing them excuse it as having injured players when really all they were missing during the NDSU game was one attack man and a d man got hurt halfway through. NDSU played a great game and has just gotten better. SJU is just not the same as they were in the past. Period! and quit giving out the excuse that you were given a ton of penalties, its part of the game.

Easy, Tiger! NDSU should get another shot next weekend when it really matters, and if excuses are made on any side, it just won't matter.

Agreed, personally I think SJU is still the toughest team we have to play and I also believe NDSU has improved drastically over a year. The coaching at NDSU is amazing, credit to them for turning that program around. Should be an interesting semi-final game if NDSU wins their first round game. It will all play out in the end with the two best teams playing on the third day...hopefully Mother Nature falls in love with the UMLL this week/weekend

Dayton beat Emory 18-12 or 17-12...not sure of the score, just getting txt updates.

What does that mean for the polls...does a 5-6 goal loss for Emory still earn them at AL bid?

Westminster / St. Thomas / Ft Lewis

Postby Laxcat28 on Sun Apr 27, 2008 1:54 pm

You guys need to give Westminster and St. Thomas a little more credit. They kept it close with Simon Fraser and Michigan State (both very good D1 teams) and beat Ft Lewis (a good d2 team) Also, St. Thomas has beat 5 ranked teams. GVSU has only played 1 ranked team and lost to a first year team that didn't get in to the MCLA.

Also, Ft. Lewis has only lost to one D2 team this year (Westminster). They should be higher than 7. We will see how they do against Northern Colorado but if they win, they should be right there as well.
