You've got to love Mr. Velvet! I myself cannot wait to see UCSB play Sonoma in Rohnert Park. If Doug Carl's sideline show is a repeat of the finals in Blaine last season, it should be quite entertaining, above and beyond the game itself.

This pre-season poll stuff is the same every year...

Teams, fans, alumni get all fired up because their team "doesn't get enough love" It's nauseating to read how much LOVE people think they deserve. The only teams that DESERVE ANY LOVE WHATSOEVER can be counted on one hand.

I know this has been discussed, but I really feel as if the pre-season poll should be eliminated TOTALLY. There is just too much stock put into it. When the FIRST POLL comes out, it usually tends to somewhat mirror the pre-season poll, or be a variation of it. Pollsters should not be tempted to put any stock in this bogus poll especially when the league recognizes it as just that...BOGUS.

There's too much on the line and the polls are too important to be swayed by the YEARLY PRE-SEASON POLL...

Sure it sparks discussion and is "TONS 'O FUN" to talk about, but honestly go back and read the entire thread as I have...You'll likely throw up in your mouth a little bit...95% of the posts are garbage!

Rando Cannis has been the top D-man in the WCLL for a while, Cito Williams as a freshman gets National Tourney offensive MVP, Brian Johnson is a top three Middie in the league, Pringle was the best goalie in the WCLL last year as a freshman. The only place where they lost something is the faceoff where they might only win 50% instead of the 90% from prior years.

I think SSU has a face-off person that will still win 90% of the face-offs. But you will just have to wait and see if I'm correct. Sorry, but I cannot divulge his name.

Cannis is not on the roster for Sonoma. Rumor has it that Cannis is academically ineligible.

I just checked on Sonoma's website and on their roster he is listed as a captain... maybe there's some discrepency between the two websites (uslia.com and sonomalacrosse.com) but I think we owe it to every player and coach to make sure that can verify anything before we put it onto the message forum.

I don't know what the story is, but if all you have to go on is a rumor, then you owe it Mr. Cannis not to post something you can't verify.
