Colorado has 3 wins against T25 only if you freeze the poll at the time that the games were played. Their wins are against Texas, Arizona and Cal Poly.

Out of those teams only Cal Poly remains in the T25 and they are have lost 3 out of the last 4 games. Poly will probably fall into the 20s.

I give both FSU and Florida an edge over CU at the moment.

As it stands:

10. Oregon (11 - 4) [1/3/1]
11. Florida State (15 - 4) [5/4/0]
12. Boston College (9 - 3) [2/3/0]
13. Florida (10 - 5) [3/3/2]
14. Virginia Tech (14 - 2) [2/1/1]
15. Georgia (12 - 3) [5/3/0] - SELC CHAMPS
16. Colorado (3 - 4) [3/3/1]
17. Cal Poly (7 - 8) [3/7/1]
18. Texas A&M (13 - 3) [0/3/0]
19. Utah (7 - 8) [3/7/1]

You have to drop FSU for their loss to #15 Georgia.
You have to drop Florida for their loss to UNR Auburn.
You have to drop Oregon for their debacle of a Califorina trip.
Georgia and VT both move up based on wins. Georgia moves up more because they beat VT.
Poly drops with a loss to SCU.
A&M and Colorado were idle.
Utah lost big to BYU, but that is expected based on rankings.

Given the above, then I think:

10. Boston College (9 - 3) [2/3/0]
11. Georgia (12 - 3) [5/3/0] - SELC CHAMPS
12. Virginia Tech (14 - 2) [2/1/1]
13. Florida State (15 - 4) [5/4/0]
14. Oregon (11 - 4) [1/3/1]
15. Colorado (3 - 4) [3/3/1]
16. Florida (10 - 5) [3/3/2]
17. Texas A&M (13 - 3) [0/3/0]
18. Utah (7 - 8) [3/7/1]
19. Cal Poly (7 - 8) [3/7/1]

Florida's loss to an unranked team at this time in the season really hurts. Colorado and A&M were idle, so they can't really be dropped because of that. Really, everything after 14 is academic, because the LSA and GRLC winner will sneak in with AQs.

I think Oregon might sneak in based on past performance, even though their resume this year is mediocre at best. If they are 14 after this poll, losses to BYU and SFU would be expected and can't hurt them. Florida and Colorado will both be on the outside looking in.

I think you're just about right on the money although i might drop Florida a little more and possibly move up A&M... really too tough to make a real distinction and Colorado could easily be dropped as well IMO

I agree with this except I would put UGA at 10 and put BC at 11. I would do this because 1. they beat BC earlier in the season and 2. as a reward to UGA for getting through a much harder conference

VTech did make it to the SELC championship game, but look at their SOS from throughout the year. They took the easy way to the top. Any team can schedule mickey mouse teams with 2 hard games all year to get a higher seed in their conference tournament. Wins: 2 ranked teams (FSU and UGA) and a loss to ranked UCF....

Invite to the national tournament should be a cummulation of the year and if they are thinking about sending 3 teams from the SELC then voters should compare SOS along with wins between FSU, VTech, and Florida.

Yes, we might not have had the best SOS. But taken the easy route? Beating FSU and UGA in the regular season wasn't easy lol. FSU and UGA have beaten some real good OOC teams, and VT beating them both and making the Championship a great game makes me think they should be in the NC.

I agree with Georigalacrosse. I do think they Georgia has been overlooked for too long, especially when they beat BC head to head. I don't see anyone making an argument there.

DG I agree CU doesn't deserve their spot, and UF doesn't really either. I think UF has the slight edge at this time.

As for a team being idle or not, I don't think it really matters. If you think the team is better than another, then you place one in front of the other. I don't believe in not penalizing a team because they were idle. My opinion (that will probably be argued) is that Florida shouldn't be placed behind Colorado. I'm not looking at how many top 25 teams each team won and lost against. I'm looking at the quality of opponent. I don't see much from CU's wins and losses. I tend to see a little more from UF's. I can't stand the gators, but I think they deserve this one.

At this point the next poll doesn't really matter (for the lower ranked teams) until the PNCLL and RMLC tourney end and the final seedings are decided. CU's performance and OU's performances are very crucial.

Everyone wants to invite the most competitive teams to the national tourney. When comparing florida and colorado, i think that florida has the edge right now. But three weeks from now, when its time to start the tourney, I'm thinking that colorado might be more competitive.

If i had to guess right now i would say florida won't make the tourney. I'm wondering whether florida has accepted being absent from the tourney or if they are preparing as if they are going. If its the later and they are still practicing i wonder how hard they are practicing right now. Its hard enough for teams in the SELC to keep/improve over the three week break between the selc tourney and the NC, and i imagine its only harder to prepare for the NC when you are so uncertain about whether your team will be invited at all.
Colorado is still practicing at high intensity because their regular season isn't over (games left against csu and byu), and their time between their last game and the NC is less. So by the time tourney comes they might prove to be a more competitive team because of this.

So while florida might be better now, colorado might be more prepared in 3 weeks. I wonder if pollsters will take this into account, and whether its fair to do so.

That being said I think that Va Tech and FSU will be practicing over the next 3 weeks with the belief that they will be going to nationals, and going to win. If florida is doing the same thing... then they deserve to go.

I would have trouble keeping Cal Poly ranked at even 19 after the Santa Clara game. Possibly the 21 or 22 spot would be fitting.
