I've never seen such a classless move out of a coach before tonight.

To leave the field with time left on the clock is un-excusable. Whether he knew it immediately, or figured it out as he was leaving, he had plenty of time to re-enter the field and join his team and recognize the efforts of the Giants. Instead, he fled and hid from the situation. Many have attacked Randy Moss for leaving the field years ago and that was justifiable-- now everyone who did, must direct their attention to a move that was completely embarrasing for the NFL tonight. Their Coach of the Year leaving his sideline before the end of the game.

The Patriots have a genius of a coach, but with spygate and now this move, you have to ask ....do the ends justify the means?

And as of 11pm not 1 analyst has commented on this. Joe Buck did as he left the field, and now it hasn't been a topic since.

Is it not a big deal? Or does Belichick command that much fear? Or is the NFL putting the pressure on ESPN, ABC, and Fox to ignore it?

Failure to give acknowledgement to a team that was better then you on a night is just classless.

But take a loss like a Man every coach that you ran the score up on in the regular season coached to the end of regulation/overtime and came out to shake your hand and you cant when you are on the opposite end

He did and he immediately left the field after that, even after the referee Mike Carey came over to tell him that there was 1 second left on the clock.

It was seen however,

by rule, stated by the nfl,

with anytime remaining on the clock a play must be ran.

With this, why is Belichick so above everyone else that he does not have to be on the sidelines with the rest of his TEAM and COACHES,

I am a rabid Giant fan, and I agree. He shook Tom's hand and said his congrats. You're really going to complain and make him come back out for a kneel down? Just let the clock run out.

with you tim... I am a partial Pats fan (raised in Barrington, RI until 11) and was happy to see them have a great run this season. I wanted them to win, yes, but I thought coach was fine in what he did. The game was over. He shook hands, gave congrats and left. 1 second... come on NFL, call the game. But I am with ya on the Tiki thing. I love how this worked out against him. I am not a Eli or Coughlin fan but they way he went out he deserves to have to sit back and take this medicine.

I was on the sideline and watched the coaches shake hands. There was a lot of confusion after the fourth down incompletion that Brady through. What you did not see on the Fox coverage was the confetti machine that exploded prematurely in the Patriots end zone. Now, Randy Moss leaving early is a different issue entirely...

The roof was close because of rain that never arrived. Inside was as loud as I have ever heard it in a dome. So it is understandable that the Pats though the game was over. Had this been a bigger deal, we would have done a segment on our show and we didn't.

I saw it, stryker. But i didn't reply at first because i thought maybe i was crazy and imagined it.

belichick may seem arrogant, but i think you're all making a big deal out of it. there's no reason to sit there for 1 second after you've already congratulated the winning coach. just clear the field and let the winning team bask in their glory.

On the Shockey issue....

Why does it seem that most players when injured stay down on the sidelines with the team but Shockey while he's been on the IR has been up in the boxes? Wouldn't you want to be down with the players and be the "leader" you were said to be injured or not? Granted its an ankle injury but you can stil sit down on the sidelines...

I think the best thing to happen to the Giants was for Shockey to get injured. I believe it let Eli become the player he was in the playoffs by not feeling the pressure Shockey put on him to get him the ball.

I'm completely with you on this. The refs should have shaved the 1 second off. However, when they didn't, all players and coaches should have been present for the final play.
