I just arrived at my hotel in the Seaport section of Boston and I'm stuck here for a conference until Sunday afternoon. Anybody have any suggestions for things to do or must visit restaurants? I'm taking in a Bruins game, but aside from that it's all I've got planned for my free time.

Legal's Seafood. Ya gotta eat there at least once, and definitely have the clam chowder. You can also find a red line on the ground, if you start at Boston Common it'll take you all around the major touristy spots.

1. Fanuil hall - neat foods, must have the big brownies with fudge between them.

2. If you like Aquariums, the Boston Aquarium is very very good.

3. Legal Seafood for dinner. Have the NE clam chowder.

4. Take the T to Harvard Square - the Anthropolgy museum is amazing, and there USED to be a great Ice Cream place called Herrells. Lots of neat bars in and around the square (again - based upon - ahem - older knowledge)

5. I believe there is an old Schooner (the Constitution, per BigHeadTodd - thx!) that you can tour in Boston Harbor.

The USS Constitution is at the navy yard in boston Harbor, but it is only open weekends(found out the hard way)The Freedom trail(red line on ground)will get you to most of the historic places. Fenway has a decent tour, and they sell hats for plus size craniums. Do they still let people up to the top of the hancock building?

Try a lobster salad sandwich at Legal or any other good local seafood haunt. Yummmm I wish I had me one right here and now!

If you want to get out, walk around a little and see some sights while taking in some good people watching I would recommend the Public Garden and the Commons, Little Italy (lots of food, shops, bars, history), China town (not as big as San Fran, but a nice break from the ordinary), Newbury St. for the eye candy. Newbury has tons of cafes, shops and food.

The Freedom Trail tours offered by some of the trolley companies are nice and convenient. There's some hidden cost to see some of the sites though. I can hear locals crying as I say this.

Legal Seafood is definitely good, but if you're flying solo it's probably not the best place to eat. There is a counter though. Taking in Faneuil

One of the first places I hit in Boston was Cheers. Its not the same as the TV show, but still something to take in.

The Prudential Building also had some solid touristy stuff

My advice, leave ASAP! I kid... Or do I? Since that is not an option, I would suggest cab'ing it over to Harvard Square and drinking cheap:

Dinner in the Little Italy section called the North End. There is a bakery there with fantastic canollis and a bottle shop with fabulous selections of limoncello. Faneuil Hall is nice but touristy. Boston Common is an awesome site and the Bull and Finch is there as well. Also, the Sam Adams Brewery has tours and a tasting room. If you like dim sum then go to:

Plenty of food, cheap!!! There aren't bad bars over by BU either. For dinner, I also recommend Lucky's Lounge. Young crowd, great food. I went to college with the chef/manager. http://boston.citysearch.com/profile/11475316 It's like a place out of Swingers.

Boston is the most European city we have in the states. I love going there each June. The train can get you anywhere and a cab can always get you closer.
