When the time comes to divvy up the power after the 2010 census, Florida is expected to gain three additional seats in Congress -- one of which would be attributed to its growing number of illegal immigrants.

In this information age, how can this be possible?
I recognize that, historically, women and slaves were counted before they were given the right to vote (foreshadowing?). Shouldn't we know better, now?
To paraphrase another famous outcry:
Representation without Taxation!

Slaves counted as 3/5 of a white man, for the record.

On the flip side, most citizens don't bother to vote and are counted so what's the difference?
On another note,I enjoyed that the article alluded to a Republican run State Legislature benefiting from the ability to create the new districts without mentioning that should these (illegal...shhhh) immigrants be granted the vote in the future, they would likely vote Democratic. That's 1 million potential Dem voters, not a small number in a state that has seen elections turn on fractions of a percentage point.

If illegal immigrants can vote than all the Islamic fundamentalists can come over, vote, and all of a sudden we are a terrorist state. Its sounds crazy but possible.
Or maybe we should just let the rest of the world vote.
