Two Pac-10 teams in the Top 3?
South Florida AND Kentucky in the Top 10?
Miami, FSU, Michigan AND Notre Dame not in the Top 25?
College Football seems so weird yet I love it.

Who would have thought that Kentucky and South Carolina would feature higher ranked teams than Oklahoma vs. Texas?
No kidding....
I'm just hoping my Terps can get back in the hunt and keep it rolling by beating GT. Hopefully the big Fridge squares away the QB controversy.

Do you want to be in the TOP 10?
Rankings as of September 23,2007 (teams exiting the top 10 not followed
Rank...Team.....................Game 9/29.............Rank........Game 10/6
1......... USC.....................W Washington............2..........L Stanford
2..........LSU......................W Tulane...................1..........W #9 Florida
3..........FLORIDA...............L Auburn...................9..........L LSU
4..........OKLAHOMA............L Colorado...............10.........W #19 Texas
5..........WEST VIRGINIA.....L #18 S.Florida.........13.........
6..........CALIFORNIA..........W #11 Oregon...........3..........IDLE
7..........TEXAS...................L Kansas St..............19.........
8..........OHIO STATE..........W Minnesota.............4...........W #23 Purdue
9..........WISCONSIN..........W Mich. St................5............L Illinios
10.........RUTGERS..............L Maryland...............21...........
To Summarize Last 2 Weeks:
1. USC LOST Stanford
2. LSU WON #9 Florida
3. Florida LOST Auburn
4. Oklahoma LOST Colorado
5. West Virginia LOST #18 S. Florida (Currently 6)
6. California WON #11 Oregon (Current 14)
7. Texas LOST Kansas St (Current 24 but lost to unranked Kan) and LOST current #10 Oklahoma
8. Ohio State WON #23 Purdue
9. Wisconsin LOST Illinios
10. Rutgers LOST Maryland
* 7 of 10 top team 10 have lost in the past 2 weeks
Top 3 next week COULD be ....
1. LSU (Has to play #8 Kentucky{who lost this week} and 4 more SEC teams
2. California (Have to play #18 Arizona State and previous #2 USC - large potential to lose to USC)
3. Ohio State (Only ranked team played is #23 Purdue who they just beat and will potentially drop out of the top 25 - have no other ranked teams on their schedule)
I see LSU and Ohio State in the National Championship - unless the voters retro-fit the rankings....If THE Ohio State gets their butt kicked again....can be call the BCS...and the entire bowl series....a big fat joke?
Obviously I hate the BCS...and would vote for any presidential candidate that made part of their platform a law that forced a playoff system...

I've given up trying to figure out this college football stuff, now that Stanford has knocked off USC. Anybody see this coming? I'm not shocked that the Trojans lost a game after the Huskies almost beat them... but to STANFORD of all teams? There don't seem to be any pigs flying outside my window.
At least we will have a clear and unanimous #1 in both polls now. Congrats to LSU for avoiding this contagion of upsets that has infected almost everyone else. I guess if Cal now wins out it will be the Tigers vs the Golden Bears in the national championship game? Anybody make a "futures bet" in Nevada on this potential matchup?

And I will be so happy.
LMAO at USC. I can't believe Mark May is still saying they have a chance at the National Championship game! They have to play at Eugene and Berkeley. No excuse for USC to lose to Stanford at home. The funny thing is, I feel that if Stanford had Ostrander (their starting QB) in, they would have lost. Their backup QB was able to get out of the pocket and make plays. I think Ohio State is on track to make the NC game though. Their schedule is favorable. Cal still has to play at ASU, at UCLA (don't laugh), at Washington, and at home against USC. I think most Cal fans would be happy for a Rose Bowl (or any bowl besides the Holiday).

Dan, I think what we're seeing is exactly what we're seeing at the DI level in lax......parity! Same number of teams at the college level, and more and more kids playing in high school (aka population increasing).
These types of weekends are great!

Reducing the # of scholarships really helped. It used to be that big schools would recruit kids they knew would never play for them just to keep rival schools from getting them. A lot of those kids are playing elsewhere now. I'd like to see them knock 10 more scholarships off the limit. (And give them to lacrosse? )
