I know that most people here probably hate baseball, but we should discuss this record. My biggest problem is he wears more pads than a lacrosse player so pitchers he can take away any inside strike. I would drill him.

I'd throw him fastballs down low on the outside corner and strike his big butt out.

I wouldn't play baseball, I would have made the wise decision to play lacrosse in the Spring season than baseball.

I'd walk his cheating as...err, behind and let him clog up the basepaths while he limps around like Mr. Burns.

Hit him every time he came to the plate...but not in his ginormous head.

Irony in the HR to tie the record.

The pitcher who threw 755 HR pitch was suspended as a minor leaguer for steroids.

An interesting look at Bonds' elbow pad

I'd like to see an actual scientific analysis, to see if any of it comes close to the truth.

I hope he doesn't hit it tonight, because I have tickets for tomorrow. So intentionally walk him all game tonight. Fastballs down the middle tomorrow.

Man, that article is a joke. The guy who wrote it actually thinks Barry Bonds couldn't swing without his armor? Puh-lease. Some of those points are flawed logic, and some are flat out wrong.

For example: In point #1 the author says the arm pad "largely accounts for the seemingly magical consistency of every Bonds stroke." I mean, come on. The biggest problem this guy has with Bonds is the consistency of his swing? What about Ichiro then? He must have an actual robotic arm!

And his claim about Bonds not performing well in the Home Run Derby is just wrong. He won it in 96, and performed very well in other years. I've seen him in batting practice, and he puts on a show. This guy is just grabbing at straws.

I'm sure his arm pad helps by letting him stay on top of the plate, but until MLB implements a rule about that sort of thing, I'm fine with it.

He was challenged with a 3-2 pitch and he drove it to right center of Mike Bacsik Jr. It was a solid HR. Hank Aaron congratulated him on the video board. I think Aaron showed a ton of class as he always does. Mike Bacsik Sr. earlier on the broadcast said his son was going to pitch hard to him, and he threw a good one. Mike Bacsik Jr. tipped his hat in honor which is all class.

The fan who caught the ball was rushed out of the stands by about 8 police officers.

A-Rod's name came up for steroids a few weeks ago on some broadcast. I am not saying that he used them, and I believe he never used them. This steroid issue is becoming McCarthyism and Salem Witch Trials all over again. Bud Selig is to blame for this disaster. He has disgraced the game continuously.

A-Rod will likely break the record soon. With the small ballparks, changes in pitching philosophy, the DH, and other changes this record will be broken numerous times over. I think 600 maybe 700 will become the new 500. Mike Schmidt has mentioned that with the new ballparks his HR totals could have doubled.

We could still see Barry receive a suspension for something that could make this record seem meaningless. Remember the all time hits leader is not in the HOF. Palmeiro is likely to not go in the HOF for his steroids use. This story is not over. I think we also need to recognize that the pitchers and hitters were both using steroids.

Sportscenter had Gaylord Perry talking about the record. Does anyone else see a problem with Perry discussing the idea of cheating?
