I found this to be interesting but I guess the money is too good to pass up if true:

somebody else mentioned 6 years $36 million.
the magic are the new clippers. BD could have been a college legend.

I was thinking about feeling sorry for you guys since you lost a good coach and a good guy......but then I remembered you guys have won like eleventy billion titles in the last year and a half.
So now I don't feel as bad.

How much does Perl make at Tenn. ?? I would think he would jump at that job in a heartbeat. Otherwise, I bet Tom Crean's name makes the list, not sure Florida will actually go after him, he hasn't proven he can win in the post season.

I heard that as well but it was exaggerated. AP is reporting 5 years $27.5 mil.

Donovan just proved that he is the same as all the other college coaches...he's a liar. (See: Saban, Nick)
Orlando is really more attractive than UK? Have fun coaching a lottery team next year Billy Boy.

I'm glad Tim Floyd already flopped in the NBA. Look out... O.J. Mayo and another tournament run!!!! Even if he is one and done.
I for one am a huge college sports fan and couldn't imagine trading impressionable young minds for millionaire prima donnas.

This is why I was happy with Coach "K" staying at Duke. 5 Mil a year is nice, but so is being mentioned in the same sentence with names such as Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp and John Wooden(sp?). Which lasts longer, the money or the legend?

I personally would not like to be mentioned in the same sentence as Adolph Rupp.
As for poaching Bruce Pearl, at least you might have a chance at beating Tennessee if he was to jump. Then again, he might like the pure air of Rocky Top as opposed to the lung-burning chlorine stench of the O-Dome.
I put my money on the coach from VCU, Anthony Grant. He isa former Florida assistant. Also, Jeremy Foley is willing to let a young coach grow into a great coach. Just look at Donovan.

Agree with Ethan...supposedly Grant is telling his players and recruits at VCU that he might be gone.

That's true and growing ever more so. I don't think Donovan was gonna starve at Florida though. But hey, to each his own.

couple things,
i'm a bruce pearl fan, it was not realistic, i just like the way the guy runs his program
anthony grant will likely be named HC tomorrow. He had a hand in recruiting a bunch of the kids that signed this year, and can obviously handle himself as a head coach.
if i was Billy, the choice would have been easy, i think he handled the situation with class. Double your money w/out 2/3 of the year on the road recruiting and relocating to the city beautiful.
