Just learned that the Atlanta Falcons drafted Jamaal Anderson. A few of you all may have already learned a little bit about this guy. He is a CODA (child of deaf adults), a term that is used by the deaf community as well as the sign language interpreting community.

Jamaal's father is Dr. Glenn Anderson, a Gallaudet alumunus and was formerly on the Gallaudet Board of Directors. He also was briefly considered for the presidency at Gallaudet University. He is well-known in the deaf community in Arkansas as well as in the U.S.

What??!! Just read that Oakland dumped Moss who is going to play for the New England Patriots. Is this really definite? What is the New Englanders' take on this?

As a Ny Jets fan, I'm not excited about the Moss to Belicheck Regime move.

i still can't believe quinn fell so far.....i'm predicting offensive ROY for him.

also, I'm predicting the Pats to win the Super Bowl. They are simply too good to not at least get there

also, the lions take a WR for 4 consecutive years in the 1st round. Interesting, very interesting

The Patriots picking up Moss and Merriweather seemed a bit odd. They do not fit the mold of being character players.

the patriots have an alarming number of good receivers now.

i am scratching my head at the eagles trading their first round pick to the cowboys.

Randy Moss is not as bad a dude as people believe. I think in the Patriots program he will have a resurgence next year, and will be back to All=Pro status.
As for the home-town Lions, Johnson was the highest-rated guy out there, but another WR pick makes you shake your head. We may see some wheeling and dealing now. They also picked up Drew Stanton, QB from MSU in the second round - he could surprise people.
While Quinn dropped quite a ways, he ended up in a program that really wanted him, and he will likely be happy in Cleveland (unitl the sacks start piling up!).

Im surprised Quinn made it past Jacksonville's pick.

I guess all the teams that didn't pick Quinn watched his bowl gametapes or his games against any program that was decent. If Quinn does well this season...it'll be the first time he does so against good teams...ever. Now's a better time than ever.

Im a little surprised Anoai (DT) from GT didn't get picked up, that guy was a tank. He'll get signed somewhere mos def though. Don't worry about Calvin at Detroit...he didn't have anyone to throw him the ball back in college so it won't be a big change now.

Troy Smith is a really nice guy, a great leader and very smart. It's gonna be a hard job being a QB in the pros being 5'10".

The only cold hard garaunteed fact of every draft is that the Lions will draft a wide receiver in the first round.

"Ford Field - Where great college receivers go to die."

Jason Cole with Yahoo! Sports gave out the NFL Report Card on the AFC teams, and he gave the New England Patriots a very generous grade- A+
On the NFC side, another guy gave the Atlanta Falcons a grade of A.

Regardless of position how could the Lions pass up Johnson? The guy is a freak of nature, still has a tremendous upside and looks like a future hall of famer.

Truth. I honestly expected the Falcons to trade up for him...but the Falcs made a good move on a good player and an even better person in Anderson. Detroit is gonna be in trouble if Stanton and Johnson don't turn that team around this season.

Love the aquisitions of Moss and Merriweather. Moss wants to win a Championship, and knows that BB will not put up with any crap from him. The Pats are going to end up paying him about 3mil/per. and only gave up a 4th round pick. Merriweather no doubt had a great interveiw with the Pats brass, and it should also be noted that the Pats talk with thier veterans about possible draft picks as well as trades. Brady, I am sure, played a big role in the Moss pickup. Bellichick and Pioli have done nothing in the past to make Pats fans nervous about this. I have faith, and am pumped. The dynasty is back up and running!
