Despite the brutal weather in the Northeast, the Boston Marathon is still on today. The Kenyans said that the only problem they will face is the wind, for rain does not bother them.
So far, the lone American male runner is in 4th place.
This year, this race started at 10 am EST instead of its customary noon starts.

Deanna Kastor (USA) is in the lead group for the women.
They're expecting 3-5 inches of rain, 25 mph winds, and temps in the thirties.

For the men's side, a pack of Kenyans are still at it. The top 10 runners are 9 Kenyans and 1 Italian.

Sounds like the start of a joke:
"Nine Kenyans and an Italian walk into a bar. . . "

i dont know how tough marathoners are, but i do know that 2 soccer players in the FC Dallas v. NY Red Bulls game yesterday in NYC (Meadowlands) had to be removed from the game after suffering from hypothermia. There was driving rain with high winds and a gametime temp of 41 degrees. that doesnt sound like fun at all. it was one player from each team.

I was watching the live coverage of the Marathon before I left for work this afternoon and the coolest part I saw was the astronaut on board the space station (I believe... don't think there is a shuttle in orbit right now) running the marathon on a treadmill. She had a marathon number and everything.
