This is easily my favorite tournament of the year, and each year it never fails to entertain.

Who ya got? I'll never bet against Tiger going into Sunday when he's within a stroke and he's in the final pairing. If he doesn't pull it off, my dark horse is local boy Vaughn Taylor. It'll be an interesting afternoon!

Vaughn Taylor: 2003 Nationwide Tour graduate.

Appleby- always a strong player, but struggles at Augusta. He must get past his previous disasters at Augusta. If he can overcome the demons that one stroke will be his friend.

Woods- His approach game has been is weak spot this week, and Amen Corner will be eating his lunch if it does not improve. His only hope is if he shoots even par today, and I don't see him doing that. Sorry to all the Woods fans, but he is done. His intimidation is gone from the Masters this year.

Rose- He is young and daring. He has been here before and he knows how to play these conditions. If he stays out of the trees then he will win it. I expect him to go low today.

Padraig Harrington- He knows these conditions, and if he stays safe then he wins.

While Rose and Harrington are struggling early I think they can get it in gear and shoot 69 which wins the tourney. I expect +2 to win.

Rory Sabbatini is making a charge, and he is solid. He is always in the hunt.

My money is on Tiger, but I think the sleeper in the pack is Retief Goosen. Makes the cut on the number and moves from last to 8th yesterday. 2 under today and playing very steady.
Vaughn Taylor will wilt under the pressure, as he did yesterday after grabbing the lead, followed by three straight bogeys.
Woods showed his stuff on 2, after bogeying the first and pulling his drive. No one has his focus and determination, and I think we'll be seeing him slipping on the green jacket in about 5 hours.
Bought a 50" Panansonic plasma TV yesterday, but HD won't be hooked up until tomorrow. Boo! (Got a terrific deal at Circuit City, with no interest until Sept. '08. Couldn't resist!)

As for Appleby, how about any Australian at Augusta? I am an Australian apologist of the highest order but this is getting ridiculous.

My favorite was Woods with Macatee. Woods could have cared less and let it be known that he lost it with the bogey troubles.

Congrats to Zack Johnson for grabbing the Masters title by the throat and not letting go, under intense pressure. A beautiful chip on 18.
For the longest time I thought Retief was going to be the one, but he stumbled slightly.
Tiger had the lead in the last round and couldn't hold it, so he did cough it up. His driving was so erratic all week. I wonder how much was him and how much is the Nike driver? Think he'd like to try a different club, and can't? The thing that makes me wince a little is how hard Tiger swings, compared to someone like Fred Couples. I'm always amazed at how easy the pros swing (getting all their power from the legs and wrists) for the most part, and then you see Tiger almost coming out of his shoes. I've always found that a slightly easier swing helps a LOT on accuracy. (I know, I should be giving Tiger lessons. His game is obviously sliding - two majors in a row and a second in the Masters.)
