About 24 days left before Daylight Savings Time (DST) becomes effective on Sunday, March 11.
Trying to recall what were the reasons when our Congress voted on moving DST that early to March, so I am wondering if any one of y'all recall the reasons behind this. DST will end on Sunday, November 4.
Not all, but most of the colleges & universities in Texas will have their spring break vacation during the week of March 11 through 17.

I'm very happy that they finally revised Daylight Savings Time. This change will give everyone more "useable" outdoor/activity hours.
Can't wait for the time change.

The main reason is for energy conservation. There is talk about keeping DST permanent all year round.

Once my son hears that DST will begin on March 11, he will be thrilled to beg me and bring him to his favorite watering hole to fish after school hours.

Heard on the news the other night that some of the older software was written before new DST dates and your computer and/or calendars could be off an hour during that time.

There's a bit of trepidation in the IT world.
They know this is coming, but many orginizations only react to IT when there's an actual problem.
We have a plan in place here to patch the systems, but there's going to be a lot of IT folks working late that day.
A whole lot of patching and pizza I imagine.

That would be fast work for my son in getting his fish. The look I'm referring to is my not so exciting look to be at the lake; however, I'm there for him. I'll just get my chair and read a book and at the same time take a look to see how he is doing.
