New Haven Coliseum Is Gone
11:23 AM EST, January 20, 2007
By WILLIAM WEIR, The Hartford Courant NEW HAVEN -- Some waited hours in temperatures well below freezing, all for what turned out to be a 17-second explosion. But for many, those 17 seconds were well worth the wait.

"It was a lot cooler than I thought it would be," said Axel Schmidt, a Yale student. "I think I should go to more demoltions."

I am coing to miss it, it was definately an original design. Lots of history there, like Jim Morrison getting the beatdown from New Haven's finest. They have been tearing it down for a while now, I drove past it last year and the year before from my folks house to the amtrak station to go the coaches convention. I hope this will start a revitalization of New Haven. Outside of the Yale campus, NH is a bit of a run down and dirty city, but it could do alot better for itself.
