Imagine Beta announcing:

"Leprechaun Gold and Soccer Wives now tied at 9"

"Whoa! Breaking news! Bad Robber is in the lead at 12 votes."

Followed by the talking heads analyzing and disssecting the votes, etc.

Tomorrow at 5 pm, the results will be in...

ENTER TALKING HEAD...

"Seriously folks, have you not seen the pictures of the soccer wives? Do I really need to break out all those great pictures? Do I need to remind you of Lax_Stats and the apparent picture of his wife? How can you call yourself an American and not vote for sex? Bad Robber is funny, that might have been a great story but come on, we are talking about the greatest thread of 2006! 2005 ended with Mandible talking about bumping deep purple and midgets! This is about the thread! We need the soccer wives!"

And someone else can take the next talking head.

The 12-year old boy in me voted for the soccer wives one.

Plus, I posted in that one compared to the others so it gets bumped up some "instant cool points".

The wives are good to look at but everyone enjoys a good hard laugh at the expense of America's finest brains at work.

OK, I just flipped through the 61 soccer ballgirls pix - some hotties -(Sylvie fan der faart and Cheryl Tweedy come to mind) - but overall - not deserving of Story of the Year honors.
Gotta go with Bad Robber or the Sidewalk art.

Hmm.... I am not really sure exactly how this will work because I have set this voting to end on its fifth day which may be today.

I daresay that the Top 2006 Water Cooler Story is:

(Drum Roll)

(Envelope opening)

The Top 2006 Water Cooler Story winner is Bad Robber .

If there were to be a run-off, it would have be between Soccer Wives & Girlfriends and Leprechaun Gold.

At the beginning, Leprechaun Gold jumped to a lead to 9 votes and then got stuck at that point and ended with 10 votes. Soon after that, Soccer Wives went neck to neck with Leprechaun Gold and then was run over by Bad Robber.

Ghostriding the Whip never advanced that far, and 3D Sidewalk Art slowly moved up to 8 votes.

"Ghostride the Whip" will always hold a special place in my heart, yo.

I admittedly voted for 3D Sidewalk Art because there are some art work involving Coca-Cola.

Since this thread was viewed about 357 times, thanks for those who voted for the five different nominated Water Cooler stories.

The five nominated Water Cooler stories will always have a special place in any one's heart.

Next year, the top 2007 Water Cooler Story will need to start earlier, possibly in early part of November in hopes to get more voters. However, 46 votes are not that bad.

Still enjoy seeing that picture of a lady in her bloomers.

I refuse to disclose my voter information in fear of retribution from the other pollsters. I fear that my votes somehow Kevin Bacon-ed it's way into causing Gimme Da Gold to lose...and Michigan to not get into the Natl Championship.

We should have a run off between the top two or three choices. Keep the ballot box (and the web hits) alive! :)
