GT rules QB and CB ineligible for the Gator Bowl

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech quarterback Reggie Ball has been ruled academically ineligible for the Gator Bowl.

Cornerback Kenny Scott also is academically ineligible, the school said Wednesday.

"You're disappointed for the young men, and you're disappointed for the team," coach Chan Gailey said. "Although this is a very, very bad ending to the careers of these two young men, we can't forget the contributions they have made to the Georgia Tech program the last four years."

Well, maybe only half that story is bad news. Then again, I'm not a fan of Bennett either.

Lovely, absolutely lovely. The sad part is that GT's Gator Bowl ticket sales will probabaly go up now.

Sonny,
All you need is an overrated, overpaid coach with sweat stains that resemble Australia and you will truly know what it is like to be a Vol fan.

I think the deadline to change grades at Tech is next monday, so there's a chance there could be more or less guys ineligible.

just goes to show why they are called STUDENT athletes. I'd have to call into question what their definition of "on a regular basis" is when it comes to checking students progress. Even though they were seniors, it would still be pretty obvious if they even checked spuratically cause if you're failing or close to it, that level of work doesn't just happen the last week!
