Gillette Stadium: FieldTurf to be ready for Nov. 26 game

I guess this means there will be football lines for the '08 NCAA lacrosse championships in Boston? Or they will just have to color the lines out in green like it is done for MLS games.

After seeing highlights from the game against the Jets, I had to wonder when they would tear out the grass. Why had it gone this long?

I thought they weren't allowed to change a field surface after the season had already started....per the NFL rules and fair play committee....any one know ???

They can change the field after getting approval form the league. Bob Kraft carries a lot of weight within the NFL ownership. Also, I am sure that the league was happy to get rid of the eyesore that was the field at Gillette Stadium. Giants Stadium multi-purpose stadium with field turf. Gras was tried there from 1998-2001 but it was ditched in favor of FieldTurf for the exact same reason Gillette switched.
As for the lines, the FieldTurf can be painted and I am sure that the NCAA and the Kraft family will see to it that the only lines will be lax lines for the Finals. The paint that will be used is sold under the brand name World Class. It can be watered down, so that the lines are temporary.
