Just so everyone knows Bestbuys are going to generally have 20 of the premium system and 8 of the lower one.
So I now am debating standing in line for the PS3. Not for myself however. For the lucky person who wins my Ebay auction. As much as I hate the fact that people rob others of a great product simply to make $, it's just there's alot of $ to be made. On ebay they are already going for $1500+ each.
So i think on thursday when i get off of work at 4:00 to 5:00 if there is less than 20 people I may walk to my car change clothes and hop in line. Yeah thats right. We have so few that even I have to stand in line. I have never done the camp out thing, but 1 night of being around fanboy's for around $1000... I think i might have to.
Thoughts?

Jeeeez Sonny, 10:00 on a Tuesday and your already that messed up? You been hangin out with Hackalicious again?
It still depends on what the line is like when i get off of work. But I really think I might do it. I'm begining to think of it more of a stupid or lazy tax, rather than me being a money grubbing capitalist. At least I wouldn't be ransoming off tickle me elmo's to parents who are ruled by their bratty kids.
But I will compromise Sonny I will "give" you a link to the ebay auction.
You better get the Virtual tip jar up again.
Hey Corbin Want to come stand in the cold and wait with me? we can work on that piss poor Fantasy Football team of yours. Just so everyone Knows he's 2-8 (and yes before he says it one of those wins was over me)

I checked out ebay last night for these things and you're right, $1000 or more to be made with them. I would definitely do something like that. I wouldn't feel bad either...If people are willing to spend $3+ on a gallon of gas, they can spend $1000+ for a new playstation. When do they go on sale? Friday at midnight?

Sure man, I'll bring some adult beverage to help keep us warm. I have to bartend the next couple nights but I'll come hang out.
Oh, and dont call it a comeback, I've been setting this up all year.

My son wants me to be in the line to buy a PS3, so does that mean they will be sold beginning midnight of Nov. 17 or will it start in the morning on Nov. 17? I checked with Wal-Mart and Sam's Club last week, and they told me that they will be selling on Friday, Nov. 17; however, I forgot to ask exactly what time they would be sold.

It depends on the store. For instance the Best Buy in Chesterfield, MO will be having a midnight sale, while my Best Buy in St. Charles will not open till 8:00am (which is still 2 hrs early). You really have to ask the people in those departments nicely and they should let you know when.
Corbin if i do end up staying out will probobly take you up on that "warming" adult beverage. You know we do have wireless access at my store, so i could take my laptop and surf all night.

Talk to Sonny, maybe you can have your own up all night in line thread. Maybe have some interview questions set up for the "die hards" that got in line before you. In the very least you guys should have some cool outfits to wear. If Corbin brings the heat, you should dress up like a Wookie!

LOL! I definitely think you could have some fun interviewing the geeks standing in line overnight in the cold for a PS3. Good article or podcast audio.

On a side note, recieved my Nintendo Wii today - special contacts allow you to get it early - acutally my lady works for Target, and they were giving them away to employees at the corporate office (i guess she actually works)....anywho...it should be sweet, and though the PS3 looks neat....Ill keep my 360 and my endless EA Sports empire....
If you get one, and it crashes, rumor is you get another 100 off the price....anyone find anything on this being true yet???

I haven't heard anything on the $100 off. They are already losing a ton of cash on the system so I would think thats just a rumor. They better pray the software side pans out for them.
Nice job snaggin the Wii let us know what you think. I like the idea, and think it would be good for party/group environments, but when I play vid games i like to move the least amount possible. Let my Thumbs do the work and just relax. I can't wait to see what kind of drunk Wii injuries will be poppin into E.R. rooms near college campuses.
Interview the nerds, huh? I like it. Any ideas on questions if all this actually goes down? And i don't have wookie outfit plus forecast says cold and wet, any other ideas? keep in mind i work at the store I'll be campin out at.

My mom just sent me an email that she saw the news that folks in Houston ARE already camping out. I called Sam's Club this afternoon and was informed that they would only be selling 2 of them this Friday at 7 am. This salesperson also told me that Wal-Mart would be selling very limited of PS3s also at 7 am. Sounds like they are selling limited stock of those new ones.

At the end of the newscast tonight our local NBC affiliate showed people already lining up for the PS3. Then they added the comment "By the way, the last time these people were outdoors was 3 years ago, when the PlayStation 2 came out." They obviously don't do their research. Anybody willing to wait outside for the PS3 was also waiting for the XBox 360.

Seriously Glover I'm in. I haven't done anything stupid since my sophmore year of college when we drove from arkansas to austin, texas and slept on the sidewalk outside of a hotel just because two of my buddies wanted to watch their girlfriends play volleyball. My last two years are all one big blur for some reason. Anyway, I get off work at around 1:30 in the morning and will be bringing some nice adult beverages.
Now announcing Corbin/Glover UP ALL NIGHT! We should seriously get Triumph the Insult Dog to make an appearance...
