Lacrosse parlance

This morning, I was sitting down and thinking of what would be the appropriate/common term to call a team that does not really have a full squad (of course, that would be subject to what defines a full squad on a lacrosse team in the MCLA), yet those guys still play hard the whole game without subbing.

I know of a team in the LSA last year that only had about 13 players that played hard against a team on a Satuday and then had to travel down a few miles to play another team with the same number the next day. The other team with a full squad had no problem disposing this team with just 13 players. For some reasons, I usually call those players iron men because they have to play the whole game, suck it up and play tired. Would the term, "iron men" be an appropriate lacrosse parlance? What would be other terms that you all use?

I'd be willing to bet most of them will be called "successful" later in life.

"ironman" lacrosse is used a lot to mean exactly that Brent. Typically when you have few or no substitutes, like ironman football.

There was a woman at a game who wanted to know who "Shorty" was and why everyone kept calling for him.

it is my understanding that we can't take credit for the clear. i have heard that the "gilman" clear is named after the new york (or new england) high school coach who championed it.

Good man.....you're one of only a few people that knows that outside of B-more. The greyhounds are not to proud of being associated with the "Gilman".

Sticking with the MIAA. There's is a wrestling move called the "B.L." that Boy's Latin does take credit for.
