Hmm... I wonder who were the writers of the Texas history text books. Did it have a committee of both Aggies and Longhorns? I learned that story from my dad who was an Aggie when I asked him how Bevo was named. My mom was a Longhorn and she did not even dispute that.

LOL....I figured it wouldn't take long for another Big XIIer to chime in on this.

I guess UT will provide the food for the tailgating parties at their game against Baylor this weekend.

I woulda left too.

I can't help but think that we, too, learned that in middle school Texas history class.

It's starting to sound like the cat from the Simpsons, what are they on, Snowball 8, now?

I can't recall the exact source from which I read, but Bevo 13 ironically was owned by an Aggie rancher. It may have come from some blog from a Longhorn who was talking about the "curse of Bevo 13." When it retired to the pasture last year, Bevo 14 came on the scene and lo and behold, the 'Horns won the national championship. I can hunt that info and post the link.

10-13-06 As promised....

The blog at the link above was posted in October, 2005.

But Bevo 13 did leave its mark on the Nebraska logo!
