Classy move by Chris Mattews and Fox for lying to get the interview. Nice to see Clinton embarass them and their Rovian Overlords. Can we finally agree that Fox news is just the propaganda arm of the Republican Party?

Speaking of embarassing.

"Bush said he agreed with the report's conclusions that al Qaeda is becoming more diffuse and decentralized but rejected the interpretation that the Iraq war had made the U.S. less safe."

So we've flattened out their orginizational leadership structure, and this somehow doesn't make us any less safe? Or is this last quote just another sad attempt to link Iraq with Bin Laden?

So basically, someone, somewhere, is trying to kill us. We do not yet know why, but discussing why makes us unpatriotic. But someone, somewhere is trying to confuse the Merican people about their nature?

I forgot who was trying to confuse us again. The same president who continues to mention that Iraq and Al Qaeda were connected, despite the fact that reality is squarely opposed to his assessment of the situation.

And no, this post has even less of a point than Mr. Bush's War in Iraq. I thought these two articles were interesting, and maybe I'll end up starting a really nasty flame war with Cliff and Sonny.

I know I can always count on The Nation for a balanced interpretation of newsworthy events.

Did you guys even watch the interview? I did watch it and drew vastly different conclusions than the ones put forth in The Nation column. I did think that the Rupert Murdoch conspiracy theory was a nice touch only outdone by Clinton's finger pointing and attempts to physically intimidate Mr. Wallace.

Ten minutes to respond to my post, and yet you didn't have time to read the article? Sonny, you're letting me down man.

The Fox News orginization is simply a parrot sitting on the shoulder of the Republican Party. But a well reasoned, and fact based editorial is worthless, because the writer happens to work for The Nation.

Cliff, I saw the interview, and Matthews got roasted. I see now why Fox is so afraid to put any of us big scary liberals on.

On a side note, we can agree that FOXNews is the Republican's propaganda machine when we can agree that CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC and the NY Times have, shall we say, a "cozy" relationship with the Democrats. Maybe Bill was just mad because Chris Wallace didn't stroke his ego and throw him softballs like everyone else. Jsut a thought...

Clinton agreed to the terms of the interview and he knew OBL would be fair game. Not sure what your issue is there.

FWIW, I believe this was the first ever interview (one on one, sit down) that Clinton has ever granted Fox News.

Clinton had 8 years to pursue OBL. 8 years. Do I need to list the complete list of direct attacks against Americans during Clinton's two terms of office?

W had 8 months, prior to 9/11.

Here we have an example of Matthews repeating a Republican Talking Point, damn near word for word. If you watch the Jon Stewart Show, you'll have seen this a few times. The Republican Talking Points are repeated ad naseum, across all media outlets. Including CNN, NBC, etc. If they were as liberal as Fox was neo conservative, they would never run those talking points. What don't you understand about that? Maybe, these orginizations run stories that aren't flattering to Repulicans, simply becuase facts indicate the Republicans are doing a terrible job running our country.

Show me the proof of the left wing conspiracy to control the media? Do you have any?

Paraphrasing Herman, the mainstream media is controlled by the elite.

You should check out his and Chomsky's book, they even made it in to a movie so the Fox News crowd could enjoy it too!

Have you still not read the interview?

It is very clear that Clinton pursued Bin Laden and failed. He failed, but not for lack of effort.

Clinton is very candid and honest about this in the interview, not to mention the one he gave to the 9/11 commission.

But again, he's a democrat, which makes him the enemy.

It's that same black or white, good or evil, you're with us or against us attitude that allowed Bush to demote Clarke, and to disregard all of Clintons work on getting Bin Laden.

Can you name a single mistake this administration has made and taken accountability for?

I will welcome a refutation of the following statement.

It's Chris Wallace, not Matthews. Remember his dad Mike Wallace, the softy liberal who let Ahmadinejad off easily on 60 Minutes.

For some perspective, compare the questions asked of Condoleeza Rice by Katie Couric this past Sunday for 60 Minutes to that of Clinton, e.g. How does somebody go about asking you out on a date Secretary Rice? I mean, are you f'ing joking me? If CBS, NBC, etc. had such a liberal bias, don't you think Couric would have asked more difficult questions?
