UT friendship leaves mark on Simms, Shanahan

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/4153409.html

Chris Simms and Kyle Shanahan became such good friends at the University of Texas that they have their initials tattooed on each other's lower leg.

WOW. Two mistakes were made here.

1st. They did that.

2nd. They told people about it.

I would love to be in the locker room when Simms sees his teammates for the first time after this story.

Why does this have to be about their sexuality? They are a group of friends and they got tattoos. That's it.

i'm sorry but it is only about sexuality for me. i've NEVER EVER heard anyone other than significant others tattooing names on the body.

In the same vein as "I have nipples, Greg. Could you milk me?" I named my son after my best friend. Do you question my sexuality?

I also have plenty of friends who have tattooed the name of a friend on their arm in the memory of that friend who has passed. So maybe before you take the short road to "Psst... they have to be gay," you should think abou it as a sign of friendship. A lifetime commitment of friendship rather than dismissing them as homosexuals.

Naming your son after your friend is not Gay, it is a sign of respect and you are showing honor to your Friend.

Would any of us get our best friends initials tatooed on our Ankle?

My answer is no.

I heard about this the other night and thought it was just a little too "gay" to be true. Anyway, turns out Chris Simms has a big "W" tatooed on his ankle. Around this "W" are his initials and the initials of three other teammates. They came into UT together and all hung out and apparently dubbed themselves "The Wood" after the movie. It stuck and there is the tatoo. Whethere you think that is stupid or gay I will leave up to you guys. I think it is funny that I have seen two other articles about this and none of them mention the other initials.

As far as getting you friend's initials tattooed on your leg?? I guess that it is a kind of love between two men that most men will never experience.
