Two thoughts come to mind:
1) I can't believe no one posted this yet
2) Science is now dead to me.

Does Pluto still get to be Mickey's Dog?? Or did the scientists vote that down too?

This is kinda strange, but am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with this? Yeah its a big change but its better to be correct/consistent that to keep whats familiar. Just my 2 cents.

Oh and yes Mickey gets to keep Pluto.

I don't have a problem with it, but it is kind of a change in tradition. Not only that, but this is a major change in history. Kids these days will grow up learning there are only 8 planets instead of 9.

Very true, but when it was determined that the world was not flat and that the sun did not rotate around the earth those were "traditions" and major changes. I guess my feelings are that it happens. But I do agree that is its kinda weird to think about it as one less planet. But now when you have kids you can say "Back in my day we had 9 planets"....... or " You kids and your 8 planets now a days."

When I was a young kid, I recalled giving this kid a nickname when we were discussing planets in a science class. This kid was named Fiery Pluto. I called myself Marty Mars. Looking back at that, I am now

Heard last night that they are going to have a revote on the issue. Something like only 500 of 30000 individuals voted.
