Something tells me that I need to get in to the college game. Even Head Coach at Iowa is a million dollar gig...

Yup, KF was able to get some more dough before Bowlsby took off for Stanford. The only "concerns" I have read from fans on the Iowa boards was that he didn't get any more years put on the contract but I think that is just some people looking too much into things.

Nice to hear some good things after basically losing three players today (Gray, Robertson, and Bailey) for various reasons.

The news tonight in Des Moines said this was a one-time raise. But this is Cylone Country, the local sports guy said something along the lines of well, that is a lot of money to pay a coach that loses to us. Ouch!

Also, ISU athletics purchased a billboard in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City to run an add touting their success in the Cy-hawk series 2005-'06. I saw it on the same newscast and have not been able to find it on the web.

As for the ESPN article, name the coach who failed to lead his team to a bowl game last year?:

"Tennessee's Phillip Fulmer, Florida's Urban Meyer, South Carolina's Steve Spurrier, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Texas' Mack Brown are all among the growing group of college football coaches making at least $2 million per year."

Go Vols! Beat Cal!

He may have said that, but I am guesstimating that you could find more Hawkeye fans in Des Moines than Iowa State fans.

Regarding the billboard, further proof they care more about one game than they do the whole season even if their fan base says otherwise.. Mccarney could go 4-8 but if he beats Iowa, his job will be intact.
