Would New England's letting go of Adam Vinateri to the Indianapolis Colts be one of the biggest trades or "let go"? Interested to see what the New Englanders have to say about this?

On other NFL notes, would one of you consider becoming the Commish of NFL?? On a serious note, who would be the front contender to replace Taligabue?

I am not suprised that Mkie Vanderjagt -sp. saw the door in Indy, he had it coming to him appearing on Letterman (and kicked a 46 yarder on W. 53rd St.) only four days after missing a potentially game-tying field goal to the Steelers. Way to go Indy! Indoor kicking + Vinatieri = Field Goals Galore

Don't know how I feel about Vinatieri yet... don't feel like I did after Johnny Damon left the Red Sox, even though it's a similar event. Adam was offered $5.2 million from the Patriots, turned it down, and turned around and signed with one of the Patriot's biggest rivals.

As for the Commissioner position opening up, found this story today on Boston.com...

Rice not interested in running NFL-- yet

Condoleezza Rice, a football fan, is not applying for the newly opened post of NFL commissioner -- not now, anyhow, her spokesman said yesterday. Rice, a big fan of the Cleveland Browns, is enjoying being secretary of state ''at the moment," spokesman Sean McCormack said.

Reading this information somewhere tonight, Vinatieri was perfect 10 for 10 at Indy in his career.

He has only missed four field goals indoors in his career. All have been in Houston. Three against Houston, once in the Super Bowl.

This is again from the Inquiring Mind:

Will Vinatieri and the Colts be playing at Reliant Stadium this year or in the next few years? If they do go out to Houston this fall, I bet someone from the Houston Chronicle will mention his 4 misses at the Reliant Stadium. He may be asked if he may be able to break his Houston jinx.

That leads me to wonder how he is so successful in an indoor place like Indy, but is not successful at another indoor place.

I guess you do not count the Packers releasing Tony Mandrich and the Colts claiming him? This signing still won't help Manning win.
Who is going ot run for them?

Peter Ueberoth? Ran the organising committee that produced the first Olympic Games to turn a profit. He parlayed that into the job of MLB commisioner. Currently, he is the head of the USOC. Natural choice.

Is this really Benson hacking into Gregg and Brent's accounts?

Vinatieri is actually 11 for 11 in the RCA Dome but Gregg is correct about the misses indoors.

Since 1991, he is number in field goal percentage for kicking indoors, 37 of 41 (90.2%) (min. 40 attempts).
