I found this article by chance and thought it was interesting the view college students are taking on war heroes and veterans. I grew up watching Ba Ba Blackhseep and had the honor of meeting Boyington at an air show once. I was a little disappointed by this article.

Boyington deffently had his problems, infact many members of VMF 214 were very offended by the way that they were protrayed on the show Ba Ba Blacksheep. He did have alot of marital problems and more then once found himself in the brig for drunken conduct, including a rocky time with the AVG's in China, however he was quite the fighter. He also did get his degree from UW, and honestly, I am shocked by the "Rich White Men" comment in the article. I dont think I would put Boyington in that catagory, or anytime near it. He would get in fights with his AVG commander over the money for his kills in China because he so desperatly needed the money. Plus, I dont think UW has many other Medal of Honor winners, and those students need to get their heads out of their collective asses. I know my school would have put a monument up to him had he gone here.
