Who do you think will win:

Turin Winter Olympics (ABC) or American Idol (Fox)

Eventhough curling has been around for a while, I read that it will get some more spotlight.

I would hope that the Olympics would win in a landslide, but if I had money on it, I'd bet on the british judge and the no talent clowns.

Take a good look at the USA women's curling team. A couple of cuties on there - might be worth watching.

I would more likely catch some of the short speedskating matches including Apolo Anton Ohno. I would not be surprised to see my wife speed channel between American Idol and Figure Skating. BTW, in the new Sports Illustrated (page 67), there is a "Rock Star" picture featuring Cassie (age 24) and Jamie Johnson (age 25), both sisters from Bemidji, Minnesota are leaving their marks on the curling world. Lil Lady Lax Fan, I know you will be looking out for them on TV. :)

Again in the new edition of Sports Illustrated (February 6, 2006), check out pages 63 through 71 where you can read about the youngest U.S. Olympian ( Kimmie Meissner) to the oddities (you should read about this!).
It says that Sarah Konrad is the first U.S. woman to qualify in two sports (Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing) in the same Winter Games.

Speaking of American Idol, they made a stop in Austin, Texas, and only 12 were chosen to go to Hollywood. The next stop is in Boston. Well, without any question, we all know that those were taped anyway. Again, still taped, Fox will show us how the hopefuls did in Hollywood next Wednesday. Yawn! Like Simon Cowell would say, "Frightful."

Brent,

Trust me, you're not missing anything on that Idol show. It's really bad...I'm pretty sure I heard the mating call of the walrus the time I watched it.

I'm all over speedskating and the sledding events and the nordic events. Got to love those shorttrackers. It's like watching NASCAR on a dirt track.

I saw that those two sisters are on the curling team. It's a big family sport up in the land of the frozen. I watch it when it's on every time and I have no idea why.
