With Doug Flutie's famed hail mary pass that propelled Boston College to win a game, this one is a different scenario where the New England Patriots lost when Doug made a successful drop kick that went through the uprights. That was the first time it had been done successfully since 1941!
Who do you think will go all the way to the Super Bowl come February? Will it be the red-hot Redskins? Will New England do it again?

I like New England, they have put together and got healthy. While the Colts are still the favorite, I am going to pick New England to beat them in the AFC championship game. I also like Seattle over New York.

Haven't been keeping up as much on the NFL (cut me a break, my 'home team' is the Lions!!)
Did go cruising through downtown Deeetroit while I was there. They've been doing a lot to get things spruced up for the Superbowl. Lots of new shops and much-needed renovation to the historic buildings. Folks there are really excited about hosting the event.
Quick trivia question: Name two owners of NFL teams that live in the Detroit Area.

I am trying to remember a trade (there were probably several of them anyway) involving Tony Dorsett who ended up playing for the Dallas Cowboys, didn't that happen? I can imagine several NFL teams are already privately jockeying for Reggie Bush.

If they were smart, they would. They could move down a few places and pick up additional (high) draft picks and players.
I think Reggie Bush will end up in San Diego. The Chargers will have to play Philip Rivers or trade him. He makes too much money to sit on the bench, in this salary cap era. Is Houston ready to give up on the David Carr-era yet?

My first thought, since they already have a decent Running back in Dominick Davis, would be that they would trade with another top 3 pick team and keep Vince Young in Texas, because David Carr is brutal.

There's no way the Chargers trade for Bush since they already have their team built around Tomlinson. True they need to do something about Rivers, but (1) it's not going to get them Bush and (2) the Chargers don't need him.
Multiple picks would help the Texans, but I think they will try to move down 2 spots at most in order to get the top OL from Virginia, which is what they really need. Carr would be a serviceable QB if they could find some blocking. How many times was he sacked this year?
I would look for the Packers or the Titans to make a move for the first pick, since they both need RBs and someone to fill the stadiums.

I agree... Even if they keep the first pick, I see them taking Ferguson from UVA. Carr and Davis look horrible because they're surrounded by 51 guys that call themselves NFL players. They'll trade down, get another first and maybe second round pick... if they're smart. I think the most pressure will fall on San Fran however. Chances are they won't get the first pick and chances are Bush won't be around for pick #2 of the draft. Who do they take? A QB with big/normal sized hands looks good, but what can they afford? They might trade down also just to avoid dishing out a huge signing bonus and contract to another rookie. I guess we'll just have to see.
What do you guys think about the 5 or so coach openings? Who's going where?

If the Packers want any chance of bringing Favre back, they'll have to do so. They need a solid RB, a receiver, and some OL help. If they don't get all of that in the draft or in the free agent market, no way Favre comes back.

When did Ahman Green become obsolete? Since he came to Green Bay, he's had over 1,000 yards every year, and he most likely would have been just as productive this year had he not gotten injured.

Yes I have to agree... GB will not go for a RB since they have Green, Gado and Fisher (three great backs) Might go for a top TE or DL and perhaps a second tier QB in later rounds.
As for Houston, I don't see D. Davis being replaced, he is not that bad. Carr hasn't had a good opportunity so he might get one more year. Texans need an OL bad, they might trade to Tenn. in order to get draft picks and Tenn. needs a RB as bad as anyone.
San Fran will take Lendale White but they need top WR and O/D L.
Cowboys need a QB (that is not 40) and DB / OL / PK
KC needs WR and a backup QB also if Holmes retires a backup RB
San Diego will go for defensive players mainly people who play in the box.
Detroit needs a WR (just kidding) they need to trade for Phillip Rivers or some other serviceable QB and get some DL's
Atlanta needs LB (A.J. Hawk perhaps) and WRs
Carolina needs a WR (besides Steve Smith) and LB
NY Jets will take Matt Lineart and DBs
NY Giants will look into WR and LB
Miami - I think Vince Young and OL
Tampa Bay - D.J. Shockley and DL
Seattle - DB and LB
Indy - OL and LB / DB
Skins - WR, WR, WR and TE
Cinn. - DL and OL
Bears - look into QB but will most likely go with TE or WR
NE - RB, TE and DL
Steelers - OL and LB and lastly TE
Raiders - you name it they need it
Denver - LB and DB
Clev. - WR and DL
Card. - RB (D'Angelo Williams) and OL
St. Louis - DB and LB or RB
Philly - WR and Defense
Buffalo - WR or QB, OL and DL
Bal. - RB or WR
Jac. - RB and DB
NO - Joe Horn said Joe Horn needs nobody.

i don't know why any packer fan would want him to come back. the reason he has had the opportunity to throw 29 ints and have 10 fumbles is because everyone thinks he cured cancer. anyone else would have been benched a long time ago.

The Pack don't need any help filling the stadium, their waiting list for season tickets rivals that of Fenway. People are always going to by Packers tickets.
The Cowboys are good at QB. If you watched any of the last three games of the season you saw that Bledsoe was good when he had time to throw, but just like anyone in the league, no time to throw means bad QB. I think they are good at DB. I think that the trio of cornerbacks in Terrance Newman, Anthony Henry and Aaron Glenn are a great trio to have. They still have one of the top 5 safeties in the league in Roy Williams. I like the kids that they have at safety also in Keith Davis and Willie Pyle. Both need to work on pass coverage, but are excellent in supporting the run. Their biggest need this off-season has to be at retaining Parcells and fixing the OL. I think that you can only realistically look for one OL player in the Draft to help next year the others have to come in free agency. Also it would help for Flozell Adams and Marco Rivera to come back healthy. You will notice that Boys began to play a lot worse when Flozell went out. Could hardly run the ball, and you all know how bad we were at protecting Drew. I do agree that we need a Future QB prospect on the team, because the team doesn't think that that guy is on the team right now. I would be interested in looking at D.J. Shockley on the second day.
As for Bush, I think that he is one of those players that is hard to pass up for any team. I think that Houston will take him in hopes of controlling the damage of the last few years. But they need help in lots of areas.
I think it will be interesting to see where Leinart goes.
Heres hoping that Uncle Rico, i mean Vince Young, stays in college another year. That goes for Marcus Vick too. You both need a little work on your throwing ability.
