I am looking for a deal on new Portable MP3 player. Does anyone have any suggestions. I don't need video or pictures, just music.

And none of that Zoolander stuff that is the size of a drop of water and can hold about 4 songs if the battery is fully charged.

It may seem like hype, but I've had about 4 or 5 different mp3 players and none of them have ever come even close to my Ipod. The interface is easy to use, and they battery problems they originally had have been solved in recent models.

Not sure if anyone else has heard of this, but there's a new syndrome developing as a result of ipod use. It’s called "Ipod ear" and supposedly it’s happening to the casual user? Not that this would sway my decision!

A couple of questions...

Do you want recording ability or a radio tuner?
How much music do you want to keep on the player?
Do you have a library of MP3s, WMAs, WAVs, OGGs, AACs? What is the format you are using now.

I'll check back later.

I would suspect this is either caused by over usage, or the actual "ear bud" head phones. Ear buds are supposed to be pretty bad for you because they get so far into your ear and cause crazy pressure problems.

Record = not necessary but a plus
HD = min 5 GIG - no maxium but price will play a factor
Radio tuner = yes am/fm
library = mp3s wavs and wma

Right now I use winamp or wmp for playing my songs on the computer.

Thank you for all the replies/pms so far

ive had good luck with the iriver brand. fairly easy 2 use, has a tuner, small. fair price. only uses 1 battery and gets a good life out of it...
